Stu
Man sweet photos! I have surfed at said beach many times. Any sea lions? Usually have to dodge a few
yoeddynz
yeah a couple of pups and one bigger one. Out there swimming with us. I need to learn how to surf as the waves would have been more fun on a surf board. I think?.
RUNAMUCK
I almost went to that beach last time we were up that way. But after farewell spit, we went for a look see at the wanganui inlet instead. I reckon the Takaka hill road will test the cooling systems of some old schoolers come OSN2014! It's a big old climb.
Stu
Love that area x lots. Just before you get to the end of the Wharariki Rd there's a road on the right that heads out to a super sweet surf beach you can walk to then climb down. We jumped down the bank once landed right next to an elephant seal so made hasty tracks to the sea - they're stinky buggers

Corbie
Hey Alex, what ignition system are you using? the mitsi ignitor or the BIP 373 transistor kits?
yoeddynz
Hiya, I'm using 3 bip373 ignitors and 3 Mitsi GTslow two post coils. Wasted spark. 36-1 trigger wheel. I mounted my ignitors externally from the ecu onto a little heatsink. Overkill probably but they stay really cool and are easy to get to. Also keeps higher currents away from the circuit board. Or is that just me thinking that. I just picture little robots carrying lightening bolts when I picture electrons....
Corbie
sweet. I got an igniton module from the same vehicle I got my coils from. just trying to work out if its easier to run the module or to order some of the transistor ignitors. yoeddynz
It seemed so easy to do it with the separate ignitors but if you've got a module already then you save money. There is heaps of info on using different modules. is it like an eddis module?

yoeddynz
Cheers. I think i just need to get used to having it there in front of me. maybe some oldschool font applied with letraset on the gauge faces for the warning lights. Possibly a small alloy strip surround like the original had too.
Steelies
cool man. maybe for a more oldschool flavah take the sharp edges off the gauge surrounds and polish em to resemble ye olde chromed pressed steel surrounds?
yoeddynz
I had thought about that when machining them but want the same natural alloy look and edges as the steering wheel. Im just in the middle of making a centre console outta alloy and then will paint it black. Man my alloy welding was going so shitty like then I realised the alloy plate has really heavy anodising. Must practice more...but argon pricey....
