TTONEFOURTWO
^ Awesome vid. Got a quote from Gavin Batemen if anyone is interested on updated prices. $185 per wheel for new bands + $40 for polishing + GST. (extra for getting old bands taken off). Metal spinners are off until mid jan so have to wait quite a while to get them made...

sr1600
Anyone recommend someone to machine bands off around the Eastern Bay/taupo ?
Gaz
Would pay to have Gavin check the rim out first as some he canot spin. Gaz

Vintage Grumble
So the general consensus is that Gavin is the man to see in regards to this sort of carry on?
beachlander
Gavins left from what I've heard. And they have recently had some trouble with a big run of lips and there prices have shot up quite a lot. I'd use Pine Engineering down in Christchurch. Have had a pair done by them and know quite a few people that have had some from him and quality is really good.
Vintage Grumble
Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm, I assume you have to send the full set of wheels to them? Any good places in the north island? I thought there was a good place in Cambridge, but can't remember the name?
Alfashark
Mag Fix is in Cambridge. No experience with them as far as widening anything, but they repaired a small scale replica of the Grand Canyon in one of the Fabias wheels last week for fuck all while the Wife was on her lunch-break. Had some wheels repaired by them 10+yrs ago, (bbs wheels that had been slide into a curb), they did a top notch job but was quite a bit more than the estimate (although that's prob why it was a estimate) prob would have been cheaper to just buy some good ones but that's the risk I took Website doesn't state widening either http://www.wheelandframe.co.nz/services.php
oldrx7
Arrow wheels in auckland might be worth a try?
Vintage Grumble
Well, I wish I had got this done years ago, as its getting quite pricey. Pine engineering haven't answered their phone yet, so TBA. Elite wheels reckoned it could be up to $2g to do the set. Arrow wheels wheels reckoned around $1600 a set. 41 deg wheels are $1380 a set. That's all with me machining the outer lip off, and doing the reassembly myself. Will seriously look at welding up and re-machining me thinks.
