xsspeed
Also, recommend me some suitable brake pads to use for trackday - pref something that will work well without eating rotors.
0R10N
Cheers re responses to 4age tech, will take discussions to project thread. Re: miss at idle, for what it's worth, all of the 4A-G powered crapsacks I've ever owned have had strange lumpy idles below 1000rpm when warm, including both my supercharged AWs. Possibly something to do with the cam timing.
KKtrips
Lol, I will follow points 1-10, then if no success 11 onwards TBH Step 11 onwards is most probably easier and better - resort to 1 through 10 only if you cannot sleep..
Snoozin
Also, recommend me some suitable brake pads to use for trackday - pref something that will work well without eating rotors. I know a few people who have had good results with the Lucas/TRW pads from Repco... while not a race pad they seem to do well for the cost. Seriously though - I'd rather eat rotors than pads... rotors are cheaper than sweet race pads!!!
xsspeed
Didn't mean to imply race spec pads, just something better than average that at this stage will not lunch my discs. I don't envisage having ultimate stopping power with a stock setup anyway - this car will do a few trackdays but hopefully not many as I have the other liftback for that. Spencer
This thing with sweet pads will brake mint all day at the track, yea as said the pedal will be hard to mash with no booster but if it hits the wall somethings up. Either the fluids got low, and its full of air (best scenario) or you have a stuffed master or leak at a caliper. I would probably lean towards master
xsspeed
Thoughts on particular brands of pads Spencer? I will check all of the above, have a spare master, or will get it looked at and recon'd.
Spencer
I had best results with Mintex pads, but can't complain with the Lucas pads, they provided good feel and didnt fade, which is pretty sweet for cheap shit.
Vintage Grumble
I had Lucas in my 101 for the one track day I got to do in it, and had no problems with them at all.
Raizer
yea as said the pedal will be hard to mash with no booster but if it hits the wall somethings up. I had all my weight on the pedal while being towed + handbrake hard up and it wasn't stopping!
xsspeed
Handbrake definately stopped it in a hurry yesterday - this was in reverse though - and pretty sure my mechanic tightened it up.
Spencer
you have a mechanic?

Truenotch
Bendix pads all the way if they're available. BNT are the most likely to have them - go for Ultimates if you can get them for AE82, otherwise the next heaviest. Bendix Metal kings used to last me 7ish trackdays in the AW11. jakesae101
in my trueno in the past ive used mintex 1166 pads but they are pricy also recommend bendix ultimates . as my pads are worn now i may try some bosch metallic pads as i can get my mits on them at a sharp price
