That AE86 fiend would have some at his work though yeah? I has 1.0, 1.2, 1.6, but can get WHATEVER. Tho we dont cut sheets, BUT can do you a deal, so may work out OK price wise? Noted and noted. sheepers
dont know if its been mentioned yet but you'll get a better finish when you're grinding back the welds if you use a flap disk instead of the hard grinding disk. 40 grit flap disks are the bomb.
Vintage Grumble
^ This, flap wheels are chursome. I liked that time you were welding on your groin.
Toucan
I am liking the amount of repairs here. Top work

johnnyfive
Will give flap discs on welds a go! I'd assumed they'd grenade themselves on something like welds. But yeah. Part of me is like 'OOHH YEAAH, IN THE BAG BABY' then I realize I haven't finished 1ft of car yet. And it gets progressively more awkward further down. Oh well! sheepers
keep at it my man!!! 40 grit flap disks are your best friend.

63Ragtop
nice work bro, that is one sweet patch work quilt. one of my best mates owns one of these with a Sti V WRX engine/box, brakes etc. very cool.
johnnyfive
Cheers guys. I'd imagine a WRX powered one of these would shimmy quite well. I'd like to get mine on a weigh bridge sometime, but they're not heavy at all.
johnnyfive
While I'm here, so flapdiscs do definitely make grinding welds easier for me not to fuck up. But how do effectively grind welds inside a right angle or V shape? Or just deal with looking at them?
sheepers
yea thats a bit more tricky. if you can get in with the edge of a new flap disk then thats probably your best bet. i bought a pneumatic power file the other day from trade tools for about 150$. the belt is 10mm wide, wished id bought one years ago. good quality belts are less than a dolor each, they dont last ages but you can get in to heaps of little corners and whatnot. now i understand why my panel beater mate has his one next to the job all the time. what a wonderful tool!! also, good work on the tail gate. that looked tricky but it looks like you've won at life with the outcome. excellent!!
