cletus 38,372
Matthew Black. Because its cheap, requires less prep and I can do it myself. I had ideas of painting it some sort of military green or tan but that would require a different set of wheels to go with it . Matt black I think the wheels still work, could get them vapour blasted to a matt finish as well
cletus 38,372
Gah I hate painting cars Got the inside done, remembered how much I despise sanding and bogging and sanding and paint fumes and the paint not drying cause it's too cold and getting paint boogers So I'm going to send it to someone else to get the outside done white again .

RUNAMUCK 28,444
I don't recall your van being untidy enough to need a respray?
cletus 38,372
It has some shitty surface rust along the front edge of the roof and a lot of rusty stone chips on the roof, that was the main reason for painting it to stop all that getting bad The rest is not too bad but every panel has some small issue so want to tidy it all up 3

Popular Post cletus 38,372
Got it back last Saturday and spent all weekend and a few nights this week cleaning parts and reassembling. I got a mystery pack of plastic trim clips off Ali which was very handy for replacing all the broken ones Paint is.... meh. It cost $1600 all up, that was to tidy up a couple of dents, do the outside, inside the rear door and touch up one of the front door shuts. There's a few runs and badly masked bits and all of the dust inside when I picked it up Realistically it's better than I could have been bothered to do though and it looks ok all back together I painted the bumpers with black plasti dip type paint which makes them look heaps better, I'll be interested to see how it lasts

Bling 20,816
Looks like new, nice work. Did they have to pop the screen to paint it?
Popular Post cletus 38,372
Nah they masked around it. If I did it again I'd strip more out I think On 19/07/2019 at 15:18, peteretep said: black bumpers looks way more legit Chur. I have a bit of a thing for povo spec Japanese cars with unpainted bumpers and door handles etc. I don't know why I covered the rear interior panels today, stole an idea from someone else's build thread. Went to the warehouse, got 2 $5 blankets and a can of ados, got glue all over my fingers, done.

Popular Post cletus 38,372
Falcon is up to 170kms now, it's been good. Needs rotors cause they were warped when I got it and they have not healed themselves. and it's been a bit hard on tyres due to camber, but it looks cool so suck on that, china tyres
scooters 13,026
self healing brake rotors. Now there is a opportunity.
Popular Post cletus 38,372
Found a DRZ400 E front pipe on trademe, tidied it up, painted and put it on. E pipe is bigger than S or SM, not by much (I think its 38mm vs 42mm ish od) but now it matches the rear pipe size better Bum dyno shows no noticeable change but at least it looks tidier 14
