Lolz maybe, I haven't even thought about letting anyone else have a burn yet.

I pulled the brake apart that was getting REALLY hot,

There's next to no material left of the pad and it has been wearing off like it's peeling the material at the edges instead of turning to dust :? I think it has been sticking on a little for a while.

It would appear this is because it was missing the outer caliper seal.

I had a hell of a time getting the piston out but its in good condition and a quick tidy with some 1000 grit bought the outer seal area up mint.

New Caliper seals arrive tomorrow.

Replaced a few bulbs I noticed were out.

If all goes to plan it's just the brakes then I'm taking it for a wof :D

Mid engine = more traction in the rear KY. It won't be as bad as you'd expect and will get more drive to the ground than a combarible FF or FR car. Privided the spring rates are all good and ben chooses decent tyres there won't be an issue. It'll be good old fashioned groupB style safety-fun!

Will report back after I've begged ben for a fang :P ......

A friend of mine had an NA manual SW20, she spun it out a number of times in the wet. Once they're sideways you have to be pretty quick catching them.

Not like a corolla / escort / cressida.

Would imagine tight doughnuts tho, and a quick 1/4 mile time with all that weight over the driving wheels.

Without LSD these are the gay.

With they are much more controllable, people of last trackday attendance may remember I didn't spin out once :D

Fixed the front brake which was sticking, the sliders on both sides had seized, it had the wrong pads (look like DB308 Corolla pads) AND it was missing the outer seal on the brake I noticed was hot.

Fixed all of those issues with a TGP caliper kit and a new set of pads.

Took it for a drive, feels really restricted and wasn't idling well once it had warmed up.

Feels a bit unsettled on the road compared to my grey one too so I'm gonna chuck it on the fancy alignment/brake/suspension checker we got at tech (weighs the car too)

Got it home and checked the plugs, was abit of moisture around from when i had finished the gearbox swap in the rain.

Cleaned them up and now it won't start.

Dumb.

Gonna try again now.

Also it's gonna take ages to whittle through the list of people who want a ride.

I only has 1 seat.

Yeah it's been a bit of a mission which is really gutting.

After the cressida/chaser I was really keen on not having a shitfight again.

ALAS

I tried starting it again but nothing, I pulled the plugs again.

It's got spark, I whipped the plugs out and they don't smell of fuel at all (should be wet cos of avg tune)

So the injectors aren't firing.

I am hoping that when I pulled the lead off I didn't damage anything electrical.

The battery was getting low and now won't crank so my hopeful theory is that the low voltage during cranking is messing with the Link. I have read this elsewhere (possibly alistair?)

Yeah alternator seems to be charging fine.

It takes quite a bit of cranking to get it running and I've only been taking it for blips around the block.

It's not a large battery either so It's done pretty well to last this long without going flat.

I've got the battery on the charge tonight so hopefully I haven't cooked my link.

I just want the bloody thing wof'd!
