Steelies
the stumpy drill you put in the holesaw arbor, dont worry i dont think even you would attempt without it! how are your jigsaw skillz? can probably make you a tool to do the swaging, use big bolt for squeezing etc

Truenotch
Why are you worried about running that inlet in the rain? It should be fine - not like it's going to suck up fistfulls of water.
My name is Russell
Really? I wouldn't have thought it would have liked water through the turbo IC etc? will it just burn what ever gets through?
durty
Free water injection Won't be enough to do any damage
Gaz
I can get the old man to send down some 90-100mm chassis cutter thingies if you want? Depending on how thick the valence is will depend on how well they work... too thin and it warps the steel a bit. Gaz
My name is Russell
Oh thanks for offer, I just purchased a new 90mm hole saw so see how that goes. The metal is really quite flimsy so see what happens
Nominal
I've got a set of greenlee (chassis) punches up to 100mm or so, and a hydraulic puller that I could bring down sometime? Did try to make some swaging dies once, but was fail city.
eke_zetec_RWD
Mark out where your holes go. Then get a bit of timber like 125x25 and bolt it across the valance. Then hole saw through both ov them at once. Timber will hold the holesaw better than the centre drill ever will.
My name is Russell
Neat thanks Jase! Was thinking of bolting timber to the back but the front is probably a good idea too. Hopefully one of these will be at my doorstep when I get home http://www.testntools.co.nz/hole-saw-tc ... 30080.html Thanks for the offer 'NomD' much appreciated, will give hole saw a go as I think a punch will warp it as its very thin. Thing that has brought this on is at Taupo the fan fuse kept popping and the car couldn’t cool itself without the twin fans running so if anyone has any other tips to improve non mechanical cooling open to suggestions as it’s probably not ideal relying on the fans. Hopefully this helps it. Will add another relay for each fan, same issue that occurred with the pumps I believe.
Truenotch
Got a thermostat? Rip the guts out if you do and just leave the outer ring as a restrictor.
My name is Russell
Good idea! Cheers
eke_zetec_RWD
You shouldn't have issues unless u have a shit radiator to be honest. Or some other flaw in the design.
My name is Russell
Radiator should be mint, its a decent size. air locked i believe. Holes didn't go to well tonight, will use holesaw to get the outline then use the drem then the die.
Gaz
What went wrong exactly? I can see dremal making holes messy pretty easy. Last week I did one 85mm hole in front of Chevette with hole saw and wood technique and it worked sweet as once the saw bit. Maybe you need to mount wood on each side and then screw them together to clamp the valence? Gaz
QCADTA
did you go through the wood then steel or steel then wood?
eke_zetec_RWD
It deff works mint if u go through wood first and the wood is clamped properly. Use a bit of cutting lube and spin it slow. Like 150 rpm. Once it brakes through a bit can go a bit faster so it don't jam. What brand hole saw u get?
