kyteler
Concur with Mikuni. Hope you're planning on sitting the CA right the fuck back against the firewall. Line up the front pulley with the front hub centreline, ala ShellSport stz. DOO EEET Or put a big nasty inline 6 into it.
Gaz
Eww poo's 6. Yeah I am looking at sinking the ca back.. just not straight away. Wanting to talk to someone who has done this before and get more info.. but yeah, whole point of buying car with pwnt firewall was for that purpose. I like this. Gaz
Yeah just wrong engine for the car IMO. Same with a v8 even tho its been done a few times x10. Hey, id love an RB25 or 26 under the hood but I dont need the power and itd just fuck up the handeling.
zep
How much cash are you considering dropping on the rims? http://www.imagewheels.co.uk/

They just suit having 4 cylinders. I reckon it'l look savage on slammed 16's, 17's or even bigger with those bubble arches swallowing them up! Gaz
Yup id really like 16's but tyre wise a 17 is way more realistic. That a long way off but I guess I can fuck round with others rims to see what kinda fits then go from there. As for what id spend on them.. If I still got coin after its converted to 5stud id drop 2g at rims if they were the right ones. Thats kinda why I want second hand tho. 2g aint enough for new three peice rims. Snoozin
The whole 16's are hard to find/hugely expensive thing is mostly a myth now. I just bought 4 new 16's for the Honda, just some Direzzas in a 205/45/16. Pricewise they were cheaper than my 15" Adrenalines, and about $10 more than the equivalent Direzza in a 15" size. Mk1Mad
Mean Gaz. Will check it out good and proper on friday. So you better keep Chris motivated on his MK1 and get it out of your shed!! So you recon youll fit the cortina and escort side by side... Theres no more firewood in there so i suppose its possible..
KKtrips
I think I remember that car in Wellington a few years back - it was a blue colour and from memory it had either a gnarly v6 or a docile v8 in it..Do you know any history? hjaving trouble finding info but would like to know more. It did have a v6 capri engine in it. HE4619 was the plates if you could dig up more? It was a couple haircuts ago but I think the guys name was Gavin (He might have been a ginga?? and he worked at U-Save spares on Tacy St in Kilbirnie, It does seem to ring true it had a fairly rad V6 in it, (memory made me think it was a docile V8 cos it wasnt wildly fast) it was kinda metallic blue and the guy use to do some pretty scary things in it.. The other thing I sort of remember was it had about a zillion gauges in the centre console - and it was really gnarly on pedalspace - the clutch and brake pedals were nearly on top of each other. Other than that I am a little stuck - ol Unka Jakey Pants might remember the car also - I guess he was into weird little Fords at the time the car was zinging around Wellington - he might have still had his Heavy Metal hairdo then too.. The guy who would know a lot more would be Ian (AKA Kaos) who works out at either NZ Car parts or Partsworld in Porirua.. he used to work at U-Save when that beast was around - But I dont think Kaos is on this website.. Requiemk
Toyopet might look up history of vehicle for you if you ask nicely
Gaz
Cheers dude. Might have a visit into U-save sometime as I live in Kilbirnie and thats where the car will be going back to. How ironic. Do you know if the car was raced or just a hack round? Simmons would be ok but $$$ 4500+. I cant do that's. Id love to run my volk mesh's but escort will prob go 5stud and the cortina will look gay on other wheels.

Yeah you could be right, I used to run Toyo 205/40/16's which were a mean tyre for a good price. 16 would prob be the go. As for space in the gge.. lol, just wait and see I guess. Gaz
How much cash are you considering dropping on the rims?http://www.imagewheels.co.uk/ I like these syles. Hard to know what'd look good without trial fitting unfourtunatly. Some of the smaller jap stz nes look mean but I think could look shit in 15-16". $2150NZD without shipping for either of the two below in 16x8's. Doesnt mention anything about offset etc however. Extra $10 for 8.5" wide too. Step to 9" is a bit more tho.
dylan
did you email image today about the prices?
Gaz
Nah all prices are on their website under prices. These cheap.. $100, pity they aint that pretty! http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motor ... 857702.htm
mark105
can get any offset you want i think, they just make them for you. would be keen on some of them for the datto, not that rich atm tho. looks like sweet base and yeh as much as inline 6 rules, escorts small, set way back 4 ftw weight and handling wise. Gaz
^^ Yeah your right I found that later. Basically they make to whatever you want, they have a standard price per rim tho. Pretty cheap for lightweight custom three peice wheels when compared to Simmons etc. Wonder what shipping would be?
thminiman
im not convinced that buying reyums now is teh best idea, if you're doing it to sort everything to the size etc you wna run, try get a cheap set of whatever, then when you've painted and a 1.8's up in your grill, then choose some wheels that suit the paint, stance brakes etc etc
