Gaz
Sounds similar to my plan. Im going to run the Hilux diff from my shed in full length. With hopefully as wide as I can fit in there. 9's would be hawt but dont think they would fit, waitng to see. Ill run skinnier tyres tho. 215 or 205 prob. Gaz
500hp 8 sounds like some torque fun Im aiming for 200kw@wheels/400hp@wheels the power being made up top end. Guess in the case of a light escort it is an advantage What purpose do you build yours for? Fun car, street, strip, track?

Gaz
Yeah fuck yeah stick the RB. Way better idea! Id just go RB25 to be honest. Stuffing round with the 30 just for a tad extra torque is gay. 300kw can be made easy as from the Rb25's. My mates built a RB30 with 25 heads etc and its nearly ready to run now. In a Cefiro/Laurel tho. Yeah will be mean with heaps of wide gaurd mk1's round. I wouldnt mind a mk2 coupe with the widebody zakspeed kit eithjr

Unclejake
I presume you are going to relieve the trans tunnel around the shifter mechanisim? It looks like it would bag like a dunny door when the engine is started.

Gaz
Have thought bout going RB25det but I like the idea of a little revy engine in a little car. For now the Ca wont be set back as I have all the shit to get it in forward stz. As soon as I change diff etc it'll get set right back and as low as poss. Prob means sump mods tho which aint too much hassel.

Mk1Mad
So whats the color plans for now Gaz? With all the effort and money going into the rub down etc this time around i would just paint it white as the base for the castrol car paintjob. White is the easiest color to get to look good when painting at home. You still aiming for castrol colours? Just blow over the whole shell with white and clear coat.. rubbing down an olive drag&clear job in a year or two will suck mega... aka. try getting everyone back together to do what they have already done once....
