peteretep
well that explains why there is so many runs on/in my escort, fucken panel beater swore black and blue that only the topcoat needed hardener, will the paint ever dry/harden properly under the clearcoat now? ffs Can you paint onto enamel(as in some kind of primer between the enamel and the new paint) or do you need to take it back to bare metal? but for the other stuff im painting, i'll just add some hardener to the clear and she'll be sweet

peteretep
i just checked how much hardener he used, and they used around 2.5l 2k paint and around 750ml hardener, so he mustve used it still, theres heaps of runs though

nobumps
Can you paint onto enamel(as in some kind of primer between the enamel and the new paint) or do you need to take it back to bare metal? Youll need to use a primer sealer otherwise basecoat will react if normal primer is used

peteretep
talked to the guy who painted the car today, said he used a 2k primer on the sanded down enamel, does this sound right? he said that he would polish out the runs but fuckk im still not sure who to go with, prices im looking at are around 5-8k to block and paint the outside of the car so its quite a fuckin mission deciding what to do, go with the cheaper guy who gave my engine bay masses of runs(but awesome panel beating, father panels, son paints), or go with the more expensive one who has a good reputation
