UTERUS
Just thought I'd let you know, that the driver side strut top is on a wee bit of an angle there Pete. better living
peteretep
im running a facet pump and malpassi regulator, normally R1's have a fuel pump supplying them with an inbuilt preset regulator Hi Uterus, yes everyone comments on my crazy strut tops, but thats how the ended up when being aligned properly, just means I have a wonky old car
punkoutnz
That compression test doesn't look too bad, it jumped up really quick, if rings were bad or a valve was leaking it'd climb slower or not at all. I wouldn't be too worried myself aye.
Beaver
if you are keen on another VIN plate, the dude sells them at palmy swapmeet (approx 11 months away to the next one mind you haha) /Im sure he sells them elsewhere
Spencer
It's bad if its low compared to the rest, do a leak down test to figure it out?
peteretep
jesus a leakdown tester costs a bomb so you would say disregard the actual number shown as long as the results are near to each other?

Truenotch
Seems relatively legit to me. Cylinder pressures vary from engine to engine, so maybe the low pressures is a Kent thing? They're within a stones throw of eachother, so it should be OK to leave it. Having said that, pulling the head of a kent is about a 5 minute job, so go have a few beers and make a decision. punkoutnz
I've got a bore camera if you wanna stick that in there and see if there's any scouring on the cylinder walls bro?
peteretep
I might try putting some oil down the bores tomorrow and retest, as I have had the dipstick blow out a couple of times at track days so could be worn rings? thanks for the offer of bore camera, I have seen down the bores when I last took the head off and they were sweet
Spencer
Have you rebuilt this thing or na? Sounds like you have blow by issues which combined with this seemingly low test could point to rings. What's your breather/pcv setup like? Just out of curiosity.
