Have begun an enquiry about a possible movie night at Time Cinema in Lyall Bay. Will report back when I hear something.

The place can seat up to 30 people and is $300 to hire the whole place so $10-$15 a head depending on numbers.

So who would be keen for a movie night in July/August?

Those who can get into town early enough, we could meet somewhere out the Eastern suburbs for dinner about 6pm and head around to the cinema about 7pm - title currently unknown.

Sounds pretty good. Just need to choose a movie. My vote is fast and furious 1.

'Dude I almost had you.'

'You never had me! Just like you never had you're car!'

Classic.

if we are watching that, everyone has to be drinking coronas.

They predominantly have older movies - I thought they could play DVD"s but apparently not.

Someone (Joe?) suggested the original 'Gone in 60 Seconds' which they have...

Currently enquiring about a price for the evening of 17th July.

Say what? My mate hired it out to show their own povo remake of harry potter that they made in the back yard. Was hilarious. They must have a way to play a modern digital file.

I'll ask my mate how she did it

Oh OK -  she quite nicely sidestepped the question about playing DVD's on a projector.

Perhaps it's because of copyright?  They might own the rights to the movies they have or the rights are expired - which could explain why all their movies are over 40 years old?
