  • 9.30pm - Forum Q&A - nothing too serious - just a chance for questions or suggestions

Sunday 6th March - Farewells

  • 10.00am - Big clean-up
  • 12.30pm - Final farewells

So please post in here some details about when you'd like to drive down to Nats, whether or not you'll be stopping off at the Taupo trackday on the way and just a general idea of your plans.

That way, others can see what your intentions are, may have the same idea and can cruise down with you. It's also handy for attendees who may not have a ride or whose OS cars may break down just before the even (sucks but it does happen). So be a GC and offer a ride if you can.

I'll start. Chris R and I are driving down to Horopito on Wednesday the 2nd of March.

We have accommodation just up the road from Horopito Motors (Smash Palace). It is a small lodge with separate toilet/shower facilities for male/female stayers and has 1.5 acres of land, plenty of parking.

There are 10 beds and space for up to 20 people to stay the night. So far it looks like it will just be Chris, Mrs Chris (maybe) and myself staying there.

But if you're a responsible person who won't make a mess then feel free to express interest. It's very cheap per night (just making inquiries now)_ and will be even cheaper with more people.

We'll stay the night there on Wednesday the 2nd of March and leave the next day. You can either go to the track day, explore the area or head straight to the Nats venue once it opens.

Here is the Horopito accommodation:

Beats me why anyone would take Thursday off to aimlessly cruise down instead of getting up early and entering track day.  ;)

Threeonthetree, your Wednesday night accommodation is a tempting concept, but y u no book something nearer to / North of the track? Planning a big Horopito Motors mission?

I'm in papatoetoe

Not going to track day as last minute prep probably

Aiming for morning departure on Thursday

Probably aimlessly cruise down slowly

I revoke my previous comment re: track day. Instead the plan is a leisurely albeit scenic route to nats accommodation by mid afternoon.

You guys from the North are pretty much driving through so you should all check out trackday.

It'll be a bit of hilarity even if you get there mid afternoon in time to watch the flag drop drag racing.

Rumour is you will even get to see some fantastic boobs. Costs nothing to watch.

I would go but I'm already booked to be at the camp to set up.
