tortron
What's the scam here Ryobi 18 4.0 ah battery Issue: doesn't work. Plug into charger and it goes straight to full green light/fully charged. Front led check shows 1/lowest charge Voltage across terminals is 0v Open battery up, test the cells and get 20.8v Thermistor has continuity and 20.5v either side of it. 0 voltage at board for neg terminal Is there a fuse somewhere, I don't see any obvious damage

Would go down, come up part way, get slapped and repeat Was hard to diagnose because turning it over by hand the thing would pop up by itself, but e enthalpy caught it sticking Late to this one. Had a customer engine drop a valve seat part way out which produced a similar tapping noise. It'd got too hot on the dyno and dropped the seat while cooling. Only found by finding the seat ring halves in the wreckage and noting the carbon part way up the side. Wreckage was extreme as owner had ridden it like that till the head came off the valve. I wasn't at the dyno run and got to the track too late to stop him going out.

Microcontroller probably won't open the transistor if there is a bung cell

RUNAMUCK
Have you tried hooking it up in parallel with a fully charged known good battery? I've reinvigorated unresponsive batteries that way before. All this smart tech the batteries and chargers have is no match for good old fashioned gravity.
tortron
I tried that before I opened it. The cells are fully charged, it seems to be a issue with the board somewhere
mjrstar
Some sort of additional hidden thermal fuse? / Broken wire.

Edit, and I 2nd looking for open cct wire, per above.

RUNAMUCK
Fuel pump orientation, Do they need to be mounted with the inlet and discharge ports at the same height? Or can they be mounted one looking up, and one looking down? Starting to think about my fuel system, and it's making my head hurt.

Certainly, with my Fuelflow 015 it doesn't care, and I have the inlet on the bottom and outlet on the top. Seems happy. Some pumps prefer to be gravity fed though.
