Yowzer
I have plenty of BBQ / beer drinking here anyway, there's usually something happening every 2nd weekend.
flyingbrick
Beer drinking is always practical. One ain't going to hurt ( although never tried that approach myself)
Evan
was going to say hell pizza up rototuna ways. but theres no seats.
Ned
One of the things I like best about the Auckland one is that it's always at the same place, at the same time... So even if people haven't been on the forum to check, they know when and where it is. Granted hams is a bit different with only a few people going every month, but that's just my 1 cent contribution (not worth 2 cents)
SHGWAG
Firecats? But being srs, I liked burgerfuel. I like the idea of Hell Pizza. I'm just a tight ass when it comes to paying more than $10 for a bowl full of wedges.
flyingbrick
A ten dollar bowl of wedges seems great value considering i have spent more at firecats for less!!!
NaN
so, .. what does $5 get one at firecats ?

Truenotch
Ned, you guys also have the best spot in the world up there. We've been searching to find the same thing, and we'll lock that place in for future meets when it comes along. That means BBQ's aren't the right idea. The first thing we need is a good carpark, followed by an eating arena of some sort - preferrably in an area that isn't totally dead after 8pm. I believe we have special guests for the next one too? Yowzer
The March one? I dunno. Do we?
mikuni
Possibly Phil for march, probably kk, shaz and speeno for April. Maybe more?
mark105
Im with Mike, i didnt think the base was that bad, prob the best location we have had it yet in terms of cheapness which always seems to come up and then carpark, in Hamilton realistically where is there a better car park which is of decent size, we can mostly still see the cars from BF also. Im failing to think of a better location that has seats and where we can expand the meet at.
Truenotch
K. I spose the bonus is that we can own any carpark and commandeer most of burgerfuel if required. We'll give it a second chance this time?
flyingbrick
Down summerset or sunshine... The one in Terapa if you went toward the river from the big roundabout there used to be a Chinese food place that did all you can eat for like 12$. Unsure if its still there but it was good value last time I went.
KKtrips
Don't some clubs up your way rave about Wongs Kitchen? Although is that in Cambridge? Could be a sweet cruise to spot.
mark105
Wongs used to be 5x roads but moved to frankton but imo both locations have like a max 3 carparks we could score so not much use parkup wise.
KKtrips
Looks like miryions of carparks.. https://maps.google.co.nz/maps?q=wongs+kitchen&hl=en&ll=-37.789377,175.258936&spn=0.000034,0.033023&fb=1&gl=nz&hq=wongs+kitchen&hnear=0x6d2c200e17779687:0xb1d618e2756a4733,New+Zealand&cid=0,0,190229037919326604&t=h&z=16&layer=c&cbll=-37.789377,175.258936&panoid=IhyJ2n-QnuXj2PhwYfJ6pA&cbp=12,179.24,,0,3.92 Ring them and ask for what night is normally quiet and that you know Richy - that'll get you guys an in surely.. ryanfels
That street view is out of date. Wongs is in a new set of shops thats been built on that car park. They do have meets there where they get 10+ cars turn up and park down the side and i would imagine you guys wouldnt get much more then that? flyingbrick
Bryant road is the st that the place I know of is on. I'll do a drive past tonight. Could be ideal? Lots of parking I think?
mikuni
Wongs is NZHonda/CJC meet place though. Would probably be weird moving in on their turf? Plus has anyone tasted it? I guess it's an aquired taste. Keen to either stay at Burger fuel, but I do have some concerns over seating there if 10+ people turn up, or go to the Gardens upper carpark again while we still can (March, possibly April as well).
