are you using the VGT turbo or did you find something else/another CT26?

Yup Hilux VGT

Fired it up tonight, did a few stationary doorts to test the boosts. Has a mild exhaust leak and the alternator still doesn't work, so those are tomorrows jobs. Exhaust is now done though so it's basically driveable again.

Hey did you end up getting a controller for the VGT?
Yeah man the older setup way tougher. i love seeing the compressor in full sight for max intake noise tough lookingness . Watching the jet engine ramping up was something else . 
P.s wanna buy a t45 with 1.0A/r  Garret?
Would take till 3g to get boost , but it would look pretty cool

New turbo setup has been so lush so far, and most importantly, it hasn't fallen off! The boost control is a bit vague due to the funky angle the actuator has to work on but I'll correct it one day.

 

I've whipped some new shocks in the front and tightened up the steering box which has improved the handling soooo much! It no longer smashes into the road and now has semi-responsive turn in. Woo!

 

The exhaust has had a bit of work recently, the old flexy was ripped to bits and in a bit of the wrong place

So I chopped it out and wacked a new one in further up the line, so the downpipe now hits the road post flexy and doesn't put all the stress on the turbo

As I've since found out it's now high enough to barely scrape. Although..

There was once an exhaust hanger there, but that fucked off somewhere in the Coromandel.

Still heaps to do but highest priority right now is a manual box. So till next time, here's a lush as fuck view from the trip home from Wagnats

Controller is just a standard wastegate actuator hooked up through a check valve. It works pretty average but it works.

Yuh bigger turbo would be super lush but the low down torques this thing gives over the CT26 is phenomenal. Insta-powar! However those Kia Sorentos have a much bigger awesome looking Garret VNT and they pump out 200HP from a 2.2TD, which is all kinds of badass. 

 

Happy to see/hear this thing is doing stuff again.

 

If ditching any of the L series turb stuff keep me in mind. Will likely buy to adorn shed walls with.

 

I ditched it all awhile ago sorry, I think I spend the funds on beer while thinking about boobs.
