yeah saw it was a 1s, so obviously 3s sprigs to mind, in particular, beams 3s, but your cavernous engine bay may cry out for more cylinders.

Yeah, a 1u would be easy just because of the space.

They are wide but not very long. A 2j would be hard.

175/50 on a 9" looks fucking tough. Have to get them in from japan though.

Trying not to spend money lol.

BUT! I just hacked the flared part out of an AW11 front guard and decided without even mocking it up properly that I'm going to weld them on. Will need a bit of work but the guard will sit just inside of the rim lip :D

Im known to have patience and continue till its perfect so I think I can pull it off.

It will look tough as fuck and probably be easier to cert.

Bad side is it does mean ill cut the factory guards away and I definitely wont be able to make Jap meet :(

Yeah, a 6 would be the coolest option.

But probably the most expensive.

I like the instant bake tyres of v8 and also sound sweet.

Motors are the least of my worries atm...

Aw11 front guards arnt as good as first though because they have more flair at the front than rear to compensate for the mr2s wedgeness. I hacked out the rear aw11 guard and it wouldn't be worth the effort stitching that on.

Will just try my best with the factory ones. Cut the inner skin out and hope I can pull the other one out a lot. Would only need to do it near the top.

I think those rims are porn and this car has like bazillion of potentials but that looks mexican. If you can get it tucking itll be mean but you have a fair job in front of you. also put in my vote for an NA straight 6. 2jz would still have lots and lots of instant tyre removal power

this thing is sweet man, nice work

Cheers man :)

I just wish I could weld and fabricate like you lol.

Surly someone in nz has done a 1uz on link with ITB's?

4age is 400cc per cyl. 1u is 500... is that too much a difference to use 4ag itb's?

Other options?

Will have to do some research...

Got my man making an adj panhard. Will be adjustable in car too :D .

Already got camber tops. Going to mount them backwards to get max cambers.

And re guards, I don't think I'm going to need to do that after looking at it again. That would also be to much work.

Will just cut inner skin and pull the outer one out to infinity.

I have nearly finished building the guard roller from hell. Just two hinges. The force to pull the guard out will come externally from a winch / endless chain / towbar etc. Will finish on Monday.

I like what you are doing with the guards man, but have you considered just going with the method that KPR used on the 85? It will achieve much the same thing and with a hell of a lot less panel beating and pissing around required.

Yeah, I did consider that. He has it easy on his car because he doesn't need the rear part and also the guards match pretty good. I tried mr2 front and rear guards and they wouldn't work.

I will go into the wrecker tomorrow and look for suitable guards to try. The front guards of my car are quite different to the rear. But after reading KPR's thread again it does look a hell of a lot easier haha.

Hey man make sure you get a wheel alignment and have your adjusty panhard rod fitted before making flares

Yeah, I also thought that today. If I do make them out of bog etc there will be no rolling once complete. Cheers.

those tyres are : potenza RE01 185/55. yeh? look sweet fitted.

Yep, they came on the rims. Pretty much new. I understand they are quite spendy? I only have a pair.
