Kiwi XTR2
This is the best way to get a reverse in a BEC http://www.quaife.co.uk/Quaife-PowerTec ... fferential Option two is a starter motor driving backwards on the rear sprocket (like I've got). After that rely on the Fred Flintstone method. There are thousands of BEC in the UK and all kinds of wonderful things have been tried. As for the clutch, use the bike clutch but replace the guts with a solid billet and uprate the springs. That should be fine for approx 3 times the gross weight of a bike and rider. Any idea what your final gross weight will be ?

Kiwi XTR2
. . . Very very quick and sounds unbelievable, should be some vids up on YouTube in a few days so will post links then.Callum It's an awesome little beastie It certainly confuses a few people to have a Starlet circulating that quick Is that a different paintjob compared to what it had at the TMMC Dual Sprints at Taupo in February? mikuni
Its a surprisingly simple way of doing the conversion aye. Not the lightest way though with having the bike trans and the k40 but still very awesome.

peteretep
it wouldnt be 10-20kg heavier im sure, a motorbike engine(wet, with gearbox) probably weighs the same as the original motor

Raizer
Hmm, Indeed. A very good idea that came from Gizzy! That is rare. Found a few pics of kits you can get in the UK for Mini's, sounds like they use Escort heads (doesn't look like it in those pics though!)
