cletus
I was just talking to a local engineer about the crack testing, does it have to be x rayed or is a std spray on crack test ok? dye penetrant is ok, has to be done by a qualified person, i cant remember off the top of my head what the qualification is
cletus
mini stuffsome of those mini adjustable cones need shorter shocks as well, they come loose at full droop sometimes
cletus
I can install a small bar using 8-10mm rod under the seat so it has something to clasp onto and be 1,000x more robust, but then that would consitute a modification? Would anyone even notice? i guess it would legally be a modification, but i doubt anyone would care/notice if done well
Backer101
Is it ok for cert and shit to have a rubber fabric braid fuel line going underneath the car? Hope so....
KKtrips
I think there is a maximum length of non "hard" line when under the car.. Will check and get back to you.

yetchh
exhaust must exit perimeter of passenger compartment. so as long as it comes out the side thats fine. sorry to bring up an oldie, can you clarify must exit perimeter of passenger compartment?. I might not be able to fit a 3" pipe over my diff so would want to do a side exit (is a coupe) or maybe just dump it before the exhaust, tho apparently that can cause cancer.. SP450andLE
What's the dealio with rear mounted lights? Can I have a rear mounted spottie that is operated by a switch? Or would it have to be operated by a reverse gear sensor thing? Pic to help my ramblings make sense:
Indiana_Jones
lol is that my old spottie? Not entirely sure here in NZ but if i recall correctly you could use them in the UK if you had a glow switch (i.e. a switch that glows when on) fitted. SP450andLE
It most definitely is. Looks better with no black plastic And oh yeah, hopefully NZ has the same sort of rule...
Nominal
Looks like it has to be reverse-switched, or only operate when the headlights are off. See here: http://vehicleinspection.nzta.govt.nz/v ... sing-lamps
brad
I just got pink stickered for lack of springs in the front of my EX, would cut springs in shortened struts to make them captive be OK to pass thru VTNZ? cheers.
KKtrips
Cut springs are illegal and seeing as you got pinged for lack of springs I would say that they will be checking that area specifically.. Do you actually mean LACK OF SPRINGS?? As in - there are none at all??? I don't even... whaaaaaa???????? facepalm
ryanfels
I was under the understanding that cut springs are ok as long as the spring seat is angled and shaped to seat it properly. My grande got certed like this
