So looking at the cheaper end of the scale (sub $500). Anyone know what would be ideal? Those whistler ones seem to be cheap and have reasonably good reviews. 120why Posted February 1, 2023 Share Posted February 1, 2023 I have a Uniden DRF7, mid range priced unit. Its never let me down, been very reliable. You can filter the K bands to avoid false alerts. It also remembers the false spots via gps so learns its route. Picks up cam vans well and knows where all the speed cameras are. Paid $580 but theyre about $650 now. Has a great function to filter out all the garbage signals/radar cruise controls. New ones are more advanced/fancier but do take some time to set up properly. Import yourself from the states using a freight forward service like youpost to save a bit of money on purchase. Just bought one of the newer model for my mum was around $8-900 landed.
