Willdat? Posted November 1, 2020 Posted November 1, 2020 Interesting project, there was a white one of these with pale blue airbrushing with SR20DET in Dunedin in the early 00s on Enkei Tarmac Evos. Looked like a death trap! 2 Quote
Vk304 Posted November 1, 2020 Posted November 1, 2020 It probably is, I just found it funny so I got the first one and now it's just turned into this, probably not the safest choice no , I've seen a few rotary ones , probably worse of a deathtrap Quote
thegreatestben Posted November 1, 2020 Posted November 1, 2020 My parents had vanettes when I was a kid. Dad had a c20 and mum carted us kids around in one like the silver one. sr20det in either is great! 1 Quote
HighLUX Posted November 1, 2020 Posted November 1, 2020 Vans with engine conversions are great I still regret selling my Townace with a 3sge swap 1 Quote
Vk304 Posted November 2, 2020 Posted November 2, 2020 I've had a couple bongos before but I diddnt even know what a c22 van was untill now, only ever seen the bongos and serena's and econovan hiace (pre 90 and 90s) no c20 or c22, so it's cool to have one Quote
Vk304 Posted November 2, 2020 Posted November 2, 2020 Yea 3sge would have been a nice motor for a van Quote
HighLUX Posted November 2, 2020 Posted November 2, 2020 Tbh is lacked the torque to drive normally in such a heavy but small van it was great for doing redline doooorts or driving on the limit of van handling abilities Got a few confused looks when I could beat altezzas or integras in a traffic light drag 1 Quote
Otodat Posted November 3, 2020 Posted November 3, 2020 Oh man, cool project. Will be watching with interest. 1 Quote
a.craw4d Posted November 5, 2020 Posted November 5, 2020 @Willdat? I remember that van, wonder what happened to it. @Vk304 I realize you've probably already sorted the intake but would an s13 sr20 intake have fitted? 1 Quote
Vk304 Posted November 5, 2020 Posted November 5, 2020 Yea I did think that, but I've heard the bolt pattern/port holes are different? Plus couldn't find one 1 Quote
yoeddynz Posted November 6, 2020 Posted November 6, 2020 You have the same lightweight safety boots as I wear.... 1 2 Quote
Otodat Posted November 7, 2020 Posted November 7, 2020 That a12 block would explain the gutlessness on the hills you talked about, shame it’s not a15 1 Quote
Vk304 Posted November 8, 2020 Posted November 8, 2020 Yea can't go wrong with mitre10 haha I go through a few , maybe I think that was more the throttle was only half opening with pedal to the floor... could be that too I guess, either way its gonna fly up hills soon Quote
vk327 Posted January 7, 2021 Posted January 7, 2021 tech post about changing the primary input resistor on the tacho input to the cluster, the sr will have a low voltage tacho drive and the tacho is expecting a coil negative collapsing voltage pulse, this modo should get your tacho working, done it to my VK from link g4 output and a corona with 3sge beams ecu 1 Quote
Otodat Posted January 8, 2021 Posted January 8, 2021 Well done on getting this going so quickly, can't imagine how nuts it is with that engine! Quote
Vk304 Posted March 27, 2021 Posted March 27, 2021 @Otodatthanks, it's fun to drive and gets some confused looks haha 1 Quote
Vk304 Posted March 27, 2021 Posted March 27, 2021 Thanks @vk327!! I need to do that, that info can be so hard to find, in my vk I just spliced the whole vt cluster in, all works except fuel and temp, no bcm, not sure why the fuel doesn't work properly, it has vt sender in the tank 1 Quote
vk327 Posted March 27, 2021 Posted March 27, 2021 il chech the wiring info iv got for the vt cluster, fuel input should just be a hardwired input, does the level sender have its ground wired? I think they were 2 wire from memory Quote
Vk304 Posted March 28, 2021 Posted March 28, 2021 Yea I might have to drop the tank and check it sometime its possible the sender isn't at the right level , it reads half full at all times, probably when drop the diff and put my lsd in. Thanks ! Quote
