Chickity
Lol at towel. Lagging isn't expensive, especially for the teeny lengths you'd need, and is probably a good idea, might decrease heating time a little.
Threeonthetree
Needs a engine to heat it really a 4k or similar could use exhaust for sweet carbon monoxide bubbles. Steam engine. You could even wear your flatcap while soaking in the tub. Zebra Dude has plans for a steam powered one. Patent Pending

Mof
Yeah pretty much Urea/water mix converts nitrous oxide into water and nitrogen in the exhaust All I know is its a PITA
felixx
Blake, do you have pics of the coal powered demon you and Shane made?
thegreatestben
Adblue is probably the safest thing to get in a ibc. Better than weed killer or insecticide, it's distilled urea and water. Aka cow wees
Hemi
Makes great fertilizer if you dilute it too. Or plant killer if you don't.
Mof
It also eats through any metal that isn't good stainless steel. And not so good if you put it in the diesel tank as one driver/steering wheel attendant has found out Also great idea rum rum, I may have to copy it. Coz I need another project to get in the way of working on the van. I wonder if it's possible to plastic weld two together, or 4, or 6...
Hemi
I've lost the count of fuel systems I've had to completely replace because of that. Or vice versa.
CaMpylobacter
LETS BE HONEST, THERE'S GONNA BE MUCH MORE UREA FORM DRUNKEN DWEEB WEES IN THE WATER THAN THERE COULD EVER BE FROM ADBLUE APPARENTLY LEACHING INTO IMPERMEABLE IBC PLASTIC. SEEN HEAPS OF ADBLUE IBC BE USED TO KEEP STOCK TROUGHS FULL. AINT NO THANG.
thegreatestben
Yes yes I've heard recently a chap filled a near new R730's fuel tank with adblue and proceeded to drive off. Only made it halfway across the forecourt. Oh dear.
Mof
D r e d g e So what happened to this? Did you get a heating type device sorted?
rumrum
Not yet im on the hunt for a wetback fireplace that is cheap and in auckland..... Pretty keen to get it running in the next couple of weeks tbh. The pallet wood has silvered of niceley, i also need to find a way of making a nice edge where the ibc has been cut off as its a little sharp and dosent look the best. i did however make a neat truck rim braizier but havent even looked at copper piping for the thermo siphon as ive heard it costs an arm and a leg in the size i need any got any hook ups? Or know if i can use steel piping it just needs to be able to be bent into a circle or fittings used so it fits on the inside of the braisier Will post pics of the burner soon Cheers

Geophy
That brazier is pretty sweet, what size rim is it?
Mr Vapour
Ok so plan is to heat it using a copper coil put into wood/gas fire, creating a thermosiphon much like this but a lot less sexy (i look good in a bikini but not that good!!) I Am looking for a metal tub type bucket thing to use as a fire box, thinking of just disassembling a washing machine and using the innards.. That looks like a dutch tub. Fibreglass company i worked for in aussie was making them, what a pain int he ass. But the heating was so simple with the fire and the stainless coils. I hope you pull this off. Mof
^Hey that's a good idea, are the coils so tight together they make the fire box?
downtrail
Wouldn't go steel unless you like rusty water after its been sitting lol. Galv might be ok but then I dunno about burning it.
