KKtrips
So I need a new head gasket for my compressor as the old one bit the dust. Who makes these in NZ? I have the old gasket which is pretty easy to see where it's blown and where the shape used to go as a template. Anyone know a rough price? From sizing in my minds workshop it's about 250 x 100mm size with 2 x 60mm holes in it and about 0.5mm thick.

spiderwebfx
I got BOP Gaskets in Tauranga to do me a copper turbo gasket once. Cost about $35 including return freight, and about four days turn around. I sent them my old one for them to copy. I'd definitely use them again if I needed to. Phone number is 07 5748740 http://yellow.co.nz/y/bop-gaskets

vivaspeed
+1 for Gasket Specialties in Auckland. I'm pretty sure they made me a head gasket once back in the dark ages. It was someone around that area of Auckland, good job, good to deal with.

WIREDUP
to explain coper sheet lay on what you want to gasket tap around with rounded end ie ball pen hamer normally from here you can break out gasket or have to trim with blade to fit
spiderwebfx
I'm guessing you mean, get a sheet of copper, lay it on what you are wanting to make the gasket out of, tap it with a ball pein hammer to get the shape embedded in the copper and then trim it to suit? Your posts don't seem to make much sense?
JoKer
pen = pein might help decode a) need copper sheet easier to get a proper job, especially on a compressor, would be worth the cost
eke_zetec_RWD
Just cad it up and cnc water jet, lazer or plasma it. Head and block need to be dead flat too soapy require machining.

Dell'orto
There is a crowd in Levin who's name escapes me right now who do custom gaskets - give me a bit and I'll remember the name. Edit: The imaginatively named Washers & Gaskets Ltd 06 367 6362
