vivaspeed
Good to see a build thread for this. Nice work on the conversion. I think you've done 10x more in 6 months than I did in 5 years of owning (read: neglecting) it.

kyteler
Is one of those a slightly different shade there, Iron? I'm not sure how beneficial putting a piece of mesh in between the trumpets and the TBs would be though man. Seems a little counter productive. ryanfels
Good spotting. Yea the back one has been sitting on top of the box since i got them and has started to go a bit green. I need to seal them before the others go the same way Its just to stop stones and crap finding there way into the engine. HP isnt the aim of the game with this engine
kyteler
I reckon it would look a lot more awesome with some brass/bronze mesh domes on the open end. I've seen them on carbs as flame arrestors before so it wouldn't be completely silly, get some Brasso on that shit and buff it like Alistair.
Truenotch
I reckon let them go green
flyingbrick
I hadn't checked out this project before- was thinking it was sweet till I saw the copper trumpets- expectations exceeded! Love it. They fragile though? Don't let them go green
ryanfels
the flanges are quite flimsy but they are fine once they are bolted on. The trumpets themselves are solid as
AE25
Re cooling. bypass into the other small hose. the one directly under the thermostat. It gets shut off when the thermostat opens and thus not recirculating hot water once warmed. you've connected into the heater return hose. chur. good progress

Vintage Grumble
I reckon the oil will be coming from the gearbox.
ryanfels
I reckon the oil will be coming from the gearbox. Can you tell me which end of the gearbox?
Vintage Grumble
Its unlikely to be one of the side ends, more likely to be the front or back end, if that helps. I bet mines going to leak like buggery when I put oil in it now/kharma.
sheepers
im putting 10$ on rear seal. i going to guess you put a new seal in it but not a new input bearing. new seal will now be old seal.
