Simon
I just wrote a mean post on how you should paint them but then remembered I had already done it up there ^ (edit, new page fail) If that sounds too hard you could try painting from the back of the rim only and then using a solvent to clean the polished faces that have mild overspray. I would probably try that tbh. Cos that's a lot of sellotape you gotta play with.
rotorhoe
I'm actually going to attempt to hand paint it, will see how this goes haha. Might try spray the centres though. Guy at paint shop thought I was nuts for hand painting but worth a shot.
Simon
Ay? What part are you going to hand paint? Between the spokes?

rotorhoe
Yeah between the spokes hand painting I think it'll be fine I'm patient enough for it. I'm not gonna mask up the whole thing, chances are it'll overspray anyway.

rot808
Hand painting is easy, I did my hotwires and my streets this way, doesn't take long I've also wanted to try smearing something on the spokes like soap or vaseline, spraying, then wiping off, it would be fail but funny/lazy
KIRK
yeh I reckon it'd take waaaay longer to mask those things than it wuld to hand paint. what Stephen says about the grease/vasoline trick worked for me once. you could always paint the whole thing and sand off the surfaces that don't need paint. car is so godam tidy. Snoozin
Hand painting is fine, it's not like you're painting the body of the car with some Taubmans and a cheap brush from Bunnings. I'm about to hand paint the center caps for my Enkeis also. Have some epically fine brushes and model paint Hoping a coat of laquer will ensure durabiility. rotorhoe
Painted 3 of them today over about 5 hours and they look sweeeet but they haven't dried so I guess tomorrow I'll find out. Was a shittonne quicker than expected but I am quite fussy about how they look, so probably was longer than others haha.
Mr.Mk1
Believe it or not, when I sprayed my old Watanabes, id already polished the lips so i put margerine on the polished areas, sprayed and then wiped off when it was dry. Worked a charm and used up some Marg I dont really eat. The hotties look, well, hot! very polished. Sick car
