Chickity
Damn straight it's weather dependent. Screw huddling in a tent during a cyclone with you lot. I bet you smell.
Chickity
Enquiries sent to Wagener(far north) and Baylys (Dargaville). I'm guessing at dates at the moment - 30th-7th ish? I think Wagener is the front runner at the moment.
SHGWAG
Looks like I'm heading to the Mount. Taking 3 Rotary powered vehicles for maximum hoe pulling power. And by hoe I mean:
Chickity
I think Wagener is the goer. They segregate the dog owners like lepers, but I think we can live with that. Ed - they have cabins available if you want to come but don't think you can live with a tent. Kaitaia is quite a drive, but we all like driving, and it's a beautiful area. 90mile beach is 10k away on the other coast (there's a road that goes there right by the camp turnoff). Need to start getting numbers together, confirming how many sites are needed and sussing deposits etc. So if you're keen for NY in the far north with some os'ers, post here or pm me as we'll start getting things organised. Escorto.
Sounds good. My second home up there. One minor problem. If i go up there for new years ill need to take my 4wd and that isn't OS. Lame. Oh and my MX bike is on the cards too.
Chickity
An oldschool car isn't a prerequisite. 4wds make for potentially good beach times. Bring away. We will be coming in the van, to accomodate all the girl crap I'll feel the need to haul along... It's a long drive, comfort, fuel economy and space are far more prevalent in newer cars. Ned
As i said months ago, i'm keen for Wagener Holiday Park. Went there a couple years ago and it was ACE! I'm in!
Snoozin
Keen as, we can't travel until the 30th though... however this shouldn't be a biggy.
Chickity
I checked availability for the 30th to the 7th. Friday - Sat. Will work out firm dates when there's a good idea of how many people are coming etc. Shall start a spreadsheet, Markku style.

Ned
no gravel all the way up there. Only gravel we had last time was when we went up to the cape edit; I drove there in a car full of people and gear with a fucked front passenger shock so noticed every bit of shit road and the majority was great. Some of it a bit bumpy but not bad at all. oh, the camping place is gravel/grass but thats it.

Thousand Dollar Supercar
Are the oldschool crew going to be stationed in the "Baskerville" dog leper colony then? I currently have one oldschool car that's working, and one that's road-legal, but none which are both. So until I fix a car, my holidays will remain reserved for that. =(
mark105
i will probably make an appearance, how long for and when i will not know till i find out what new job does around this time.
Chickity
I'll leave you off my list Mark/Ben. Might be easiest if you sus out what dates you can make it (if any) and then book yourself a site. Ned/Cam/Ed - since you're all tentophobic I found an alternative option for you. 3 men in a caravan isn't too questionable. http://www.abccaravans.co.nz/productdetail.php?pid=291 There is also these places http://www.northaucklandcaravans.co.nz/ ... ravan.html http://www.smiley.co.nz/rentals.html Or fancy version http://www.homesteadcaravans.co.nz/shorttermrentals.htm
Ned
$50.00 +gst a night plus $100 insurance. Beds are ed size, not ned size as i'm 6'5" and a normal bed is too short for me, let alone the shit they have in those caravans haha I'm not tisantaphobic, i just want least amount of effort so pulling up and cracking a beer is far better than putting up tent and pulling down tent etc... Chickity
Guess you'll have to make a least effort vs bed you fit on/cost decision. We have a 12v compressor (currently in Eds possession), so at least inflating an airbed will be quick and easy.
