keltik
Yeah my biggest objection was lack of idle control but I have a cunning plan for that. So ITB's are the next fantasy since turbo is still not practical.
Mitch.W
BT ones have a funny triangle intake side so super weird to make a manifold for? That's what I'm lead to believe anyway. But yes! Itb's will be awesome! Do it!
JoKer
don't encourage him do it
Vintage Grumble
I know the port shape is a rounded off triangle, but I thought that the plate between the head on quads rounded this out? I may be wrong tho.
keltik
Yeah did some googling and it seems either one will be fine for my purposes but blacktop will be better. So yeah, soon as I build up some funds, ill crack into it.
Rookie
You would be best to do the mod that KPR did to his.
Vintage Grumble
Put a 4age in it? I completely agree Dave.
Rookie
I'm not sure the Subaru could deal with the chassis twisting torque?
keltik
You would be best to do the mod that KPR did to his. Adjustable trumpet lengths? Looks like a really cool mod but probably not as necessary with twice the number of cubes.
Spencer
Na making the back end of the BT throttles round, they blend out to a ovalish shape to match the intake manifold/port of the 20v
HighLUX
Trumpets out the bonnet hillborn injection spec please

keltik
Sounds like a job for the Feek's lathe? Shouldn't be too hard to make some adapters for this to work
Vintage Grumble
Ewww, those BT quads are an ugly shape. ST quads it is then.
keltik
Lesson learned. Muffler shop spec exhausts are shithouse. The front Y section is all rusty and poo. So heres the plan: Zerosports and Corazon diff back section. One will be pretty quiet and the other nice and fruity so I can swap between them Factory 3L mid section with a band pass resonator. Nice thick quality pipe that still looks new after 10 years. Flexi joint at the Y under the gearbox. Keep the factory headers and the current glasspack resonator under each head. Whole system will then be straight through and wont be any louder than my current setup which is nice. Its not really a big change in terms of design, just switching to higher quality components. Then add some blacktop ITB's which I have sourced. Fabricate some kind of airbox and think about filter/plenum options. Buy some trumpets and hit the dyno end of August to see how many more ponies ive unleashed. Then hit Manfeild in September and experience the joy of bwarp past the pit wall. I'm wetting myself with excitement at the sound of a 6 on ITB's spinning the tacho off the clock.

Vintage Grumble
Ohhh so you want the ugly shaped ones cos they closer to oval or just cos they are bigger? Also, you are NOT going to run an air box on the quads. No way ma'am.
Spencer
Fuck yes he is, wasted power otherwise. Just make a lush mould and get it made out of carbon fibre, will still sound sweet.
Vintage Grumble
NAH NAH NAH, FTP (where P = power) Its all about the sound!
