Mk2EscortSport!
Which is the better type? My mate seems to reckon that the fiber based stuff is better? I have used it a bit and it seems very easy to work with.
tortron
what for exactly?
Simon
It depends what you are using it for. If you are filling huge rust holes where you should be welding plates into them - use the glass filler. If you are fixing body kits, use the glass filler. If you are fixing minor dents or any repairs on flat panels use the normal bog. Usually you will have to go over the glass filler with a layer of standard bog anyway. I think the glass stuff is designed for bonding two things or filling large holes rather than filling dents. I have used large quantities of both and they are very good for the jobs they were designed for.
Mk2EscortSport!
I am welding up all the holes,.... just using the fiberglass for dents, and filling after welding. Which is the best brand of bog to use then? I have used supercheap shit before and it is no good.
Truenotch
Just get a good quality "finishing bog" and it'll do what you need.
d.p.n.s
fibreglass is good but you will never get a clean finish with it and will have to use bog anyway. for rust i just cut it out and plate it then bog it. a good bog i use is Z grip very easy sanding and fuck all air bubbles so you dont get pin holes. the last lot i bought was $40 for 4lts from a panel and paint shop. dan

Mk2EscortSport!
sorry guys, couple more questions. Im thinking of getting a compressor for spraying the car. possibly second hand. What should I look for. Im not sure what minimum specs I should be looking at. I do not want to get a heap of shit but do not want to spend a shit load. Any ideas? Truenotch
Something with a decent CFM rating so you don't have to wait for it to crank up all the time. My one is 13CFM Max (about 9-10cfm free delivery) and is on the cusp of being too small to keep up with my gun.
Bling
Cheap and high CFM don't go together, theres another thread around as someone asked the same question. Some people manage with cheap ones. I'd find the thread but too lazy, so have a look, something along the lines of what size compressor.
