Kelvin
Ha was just reading your thread also. Cheers again guys and Alex I have been thinking about trying some steel or even alloy hard lines also. Another thought was the black braided hose's like I've used for my oil cooler and turbo return lines, I think it could look really nice as its a matt slightly textured finish that should look good along side the manifolds/coolers ect. I can not wait for the first drive, even just thinking about it starts to make me nervous. Also just bought a Hilux diff with 4.3 lsd so Ill start hacking into that when it shows up and am thinking I might have to steel a few idears from kpr's AE85 build

yoeddynz
I like tidy engine bays but not the over done full on show cars, you know, all the shiny extra crap. My pet hate is chromed bonnet catches and really shiny chrome finished catch tanks everywhere. or badly placed brightly coloured radiator or filler caps. Its annoying for me when a car engine bay starts coming together and I get to that point when its just right. But then all the extra hoses, vacuum hoses, wires etc have to start going in and its gets filled up, all messy like.

Full engine bay tidy & bought up to bling spec plzkthnx
Kelvin
camber yes That's the plan, diff arrived this week so have striped it down and am going to start making a jig to weld it to to make sure I get everything nice and straight. Haha I got one of those brightly coloured radiator caps, not by choice though so will be changing it when I find some thing more suitable. Let the Capella low battles begin! Oh its on! I love how you think along the same lines as me, when our cars are done we will have to park out side the rota nats together because they wont let us in with out modjays I got some 16''s I'm building for her now as well, just waiting on the new outer shells to arrive and Il throw some pics up. Thanks cletus, I just found your vg valiant build thread last week that thing is awesome. Its the same kind of look/feel I'm aiming for when running my stock wheel just clean and tidy but with some decent power to boot. Sorry Mike I don't do ''bling spec'' I was thinking for a FD more of a steam punk kind of theme. All piping wrapped in a rich mahogany vinyl, replace bolts with brass rivets and try to make the engine block look like a boiler of some sort
escortwags
how low is your god dam cross member to the ground? my adjustables are at the top of their height at that picture + captive, they have enough play to make the xmember to lay frame haha I'm thinking rolling on 13's will be near impossible unless on sheets of glass, 16's will make roads plausible, if your still on the look out for simmo's theres heaps on Ebay at the moment going for around $500 if your down jsut buy some and ill pick them up and ship
Kelvin
how low is your god dam cross member to the ground? If your still on the look out for simmo's theres heaps on Ebay at the moment going for around $500 if your down jsut buy some and ill pick them up and ship I put my sump guard on the other day and was going to take a photo but I couldn't get the camera under the front hahaha I'd say probably 30-40mm max, I still need to cut the bump stop wings off the cross member because the bottom arms are hitting them now so once that's done I'd say the sump guard should be hard on the floor. I would like to be able to drive it at that height with the 13''s but I'd say it would have to only be for on the track and short trips around town but with bigger wheels or even just bigger tyres on the 13's it shouldn't be to bad. I'm off to Ebay now so look forward to a big list of wheels in your in box
