fuel
Pretty sweet dude. You'll need to cert it for the turbo engine though as that model wasn't turbocharged from factory. May as well do coilovers in the rear too as they'ld pose the biggest problem of captivating the springs opposed to the fronts where you can just whip in any shorter inserts (rears are sealed inserts and would make it difficult to shorten, may as well crack them open and fit SW20 inserts and toyota gland nut). I'm tossing up whether to fit the euro spec front to mine or not, I know where a whole car is for spares.
lowlancer
BUT PHIL IT HAS TURBO WRITTEN ON THE SEATZ? Yeah, dumb. I'm pretty sure most places wouldn't know anyway. I heart the front on mine, looks 80s as all hell Great work on thread name thanks
kyteler
@ Title. Sweet dude. Even if you can't get everything done ASAP, definitely hold onto it. I prefer the earlier shape, like stuyizz one as that's what my grandfather rolled for a few years after a pile of Valiants that were his main steeds. Chrysler baby. Just rock the route Phil decided against? 4G63 DOHC Turbo would be pretty tough, nothing on his V6 idea but still not all bad. Afterall, it's not an EX, it's a fucken Sapporo so it's actually a decent car.
lowlancer
I just don't want to blow a bunch of coin on an old car, it's just a bit of fun. SOHC turbo sounds the go, but we'll see Also massive thanks to retep for taking some snaps for me.
fuel
honestly the SOHC turbo is poos, it's the lack of multi point which lets it down - the rev range just isn't smooth at all, and if you catch it in the wrong end of the power band when accelerating changing gears it can be painful. it's just not really a lively motor at all. you'll need to change your fuel lines too as they're low pressure and suited to carburetorred vehicle, if going fuel injection and/or turbo. Yeah I'm not overly fussed on the idea, I'll do some investigation Yeah have laid out a bit of a plan for what I'll need for EFI route. Lines, lift and supply pumps, surge tank etc
fuel
just find a wrecked Starion to nab the fuel tank and lines from.
kyteler
Fuck you wouldn't want to see my 110 bill then Spending coin on old cars is the best way to go IMO, if you make the right choices and buy the right stuff you'll have a much sweeter car than you would have if you'd just spent a whole wad on a modern. Gaz
Good shit man, needs really really wide steels I also vote for the DOHC version, they are cheap enough anyways. Gaz
danger
This is what all that fuss was about? Got offered a white turbo deceased estate one of these for $400 years ago. took it for a spin and was fun but too rusty to bother with
lowlancer
What fuss? Your whole life is a fuss

Toucan
It looks sweet. Buy phils old engine? Will be a sweet car to blast around in, choice
lowlancer
Nah he's keeping it for when the V6 makes him do bumwees and he needs to slow down. Bit gay for me, but a good idea. I'll just wait for a sweet deal, other things need doing anyway
fuel
yeah sorry am keeping all the original parts for the Eterna should I ever return it to factory condition (not likely.. but good to hang onto stuff like that)
Sparkle
potentially fucking mean. sohc turbo would be waste of money surely, just find a mint 4g63 sohc, roll some headers and a sweet carb plus GrUmPy CaM or buy that dohc setup off whoever it was, was it that GC snowy's? OSM Garage
MUTHA FUCKER!!! Fast or last huh. Good shit. atleast you'd do something with it. If I had brought it, it would've sat in my carport to rot away. Go N/A SOHC with twin sidies!!!
lowlancer
Yeah I needed a project anyway, I blaze all my money on dumb shit. N/A SOHC would be shit. Too slow and too much work for shit gains. Kinda keen on DOHC, but definate requirement for cert makes it high in the faggotry area. Might just do a couple of lazy addons for current motor but nothing much I saw those 48s and manifold for 4G63 on TM, but $500 odd is obscene
Sparkle
ogres lancer goes pretty well, esp with 32/36 and cam. Would be even better with some sidies and a h/core zaust manifold. Besides, if you buy sidies, you'll always get your money back again when you sell them
CUL8R
I see what you've done here, quite liking it.. Would go for DOHC N/A, go pretty well for what they are, should be fun for you regardless of what you decide..
