Great to see another Beetle getting some love!

As far as getting the pics to a manageable file size, open each one in your gallery and take a screenshot. Then upload the screenshot and you should be good to load up a pile with each post.

Can get free photo editing apps, then it's easy as to resize your pics.

Not surprised at one of Kev's Beetles having rust, happy to see it being saved!

This is what i have used for years now. Can resize multiple photos at once etc etc. It has a paid version but the free one has never steered me wrong.

Im on samsung but imagine their must be similar/same one for iphone.

@Raizer- you know Kev?

Yeah, spent a lot of time with him and his VWs back in the day, haven't seen him much in years though.

@Raizer oh wow, yea nice guy, from memory he had his shed built and was still living out of the bus

this 67 was the pick of the bunch as it had some pretty cool history, was owned by a German family most of its life who used to travel up and down New Zealand and ski’d with it, all the kids and all!

appreciate the feedback, leave some feedback if you’re following along, I’m trying to add in sections to where I’m at now.

@77magnum13hundy I’m working up to that, still stuck on recycling  2020 updates 😅

it’s getting an ej20 SOHC from an 89 legacy. Its very early EJ20 and it came out of a Volkswagen as was converted back in the day!

gearbox, will be just a strengthened VW transaxle. Will put in standard initially till later on when I’ll upgrade the diff and 3rd and 4th. Certifier seems happy with the build plan 😃

Very very nice work on the rust repairs and body work!

Used to have VWs and now my reliable* daily's are Subarus so looking forward to seeing where this gets to.

What version of subaru motor is it?

Ive always thought a non turbo subaru motor with AVCS ie (EJ204D 140kw, EJ254 123kw but more torque) Or a later model FB25D 137kw (timing chain) or the Direct injection FA20D 153kw or FA24D 174kw along with the Subaru non turbo 6speed modified to run in reverse would be pretty sweet. I know a few of the above numbers can be improved on as well.

Turbos are cool but harder to manage coolant temps, and you probably dont need the power in that light a shell

@shrike it’s a super early ej20e ? I believe. From early legacy. I’m ok with it, it combines well with the beetle box with a few upgraded parts to not destroy them. Key here is reliability and fuel injection, 120-130hp and a heater. I got around in my 1600 being 50hp on a good day for years and was still good fun.

its dinosaur motor, i know- but as far as i know the block is interchangeable it’s the heads that are unique for the early ones.

I’ll change the intake design from previous previous owner, and a few other things. Still run factory computer too, the loom is there but @gerk will be making a much tidier loom and will wire the beetle seperate, upgrade the factory fuse setup etc!

old boring slow ej20, I know, but reliable 😊 in the future might look to do cams and aftermarket ECU.
