kp60nick
We recently purchased a honda logo for a family weekend car as our other project car is giving off a long term vibe. We weren't looking for for anything in particular but was searching for something tidy and nothing we had before. It's a 1997 1.3L manual with 122000km Small amount of paint fade on roof and just general little car park dents. The interior is so good. Basically brand new. Only thing I had to fix was passenger air vent was broken. One trip to pick a part and had that sorted. Up close photo of the awesome yarn they used to knit the interior out of. Thanks for looking Nick. 6
Popular Post kp60nick
When honda was creating a name for these I dont think they did the English translation part very well. Or didnt think about how you would use google to search for parts as I didn't know what the chassis code was to start with. But once I worked out it was GA3 I was away laughing. I started looking at parts at the Auckland pick a parts and at the time there was 9 honda logos at the Auckland based pick a parts. Plenty more around rest of Nz. First trip picked up boot spoiler and air vent I joined the facebook worldwide modified honda logo page. Heaps of helpful information about logos. Turns out big following overseas and they are all super jealous of the amount we have here in New Zealand. I found a post regarding the terrible death roll the body has going around corners as most dont have sway bars. It explained that the honda capa (never heard of one before) has the lower arms, sway bar mounts and a sway bar that fits the logo but only the facelift. Pre facelift had different chassis rails. Gutted! But pick a part had a capa so it was worth a look to see how different the are. My pre facelift logo Facelift logo pick a part Honda capa pick a part It didnt look to different so brought all the bits I needed. It turns out the hole I thought was missing was the wrong hole. I bolted it too the car and only one hole worked. I didnt take a photo of that but you can see the plate I made out of 4mm steel to pick up the existing hole Cut off excess and plated for strength Then painted. It's in the car now with new ball joints and sway bar links. It feels awesome. Just like a slow go kart. Thanks for looking. 20
kp60nick
Body work time. This car will be living outside in the weather so we wanted to make sure to protect it as much as possible. The trade I'm in it didn't seem like a big deal to paint the whole car (not technically a car painter but still a spray painter by trade.) And noticed that the original paint was getting very thin. In the top of boot jam was really bad. Also perfect time to add a boot spoiler. Thanks to @fletch for the pick a part mission. The second boot spoiler is a a pre facelift one suits the era of car just right Next was take it to work and strip down. the boys and I smashed out the sanding and bogging on the friday night on kings birthday weekend so could it in primer asap Was ready to prime by 1:00am
Popular Post kp60nick
Next was to paint the under side of bonnet so it was dry enough to flip over on sunday to paint the second side. The bumpers had a unusual freckle finish so I didn't want to risk it so stripped them right back to the plastic. Full prime on Saturday ready for paint sunday. Bonnet all painted. Final colour in the sun Got the car and panels ready on Saturday and sunday zo and the kids came in to help mask and scotch the time consuming bits. Was in the booth sunday night. Was finished painting two loads of parts by about 6:00am.
Popular Post kp60nick
Really happy how this came out only second base/ clear car spray I've done. Then time for final assembly the trickiest part was removing the door cards and putting them back together. The inside handle was so difficult to work out. They need to slide forward into to the panel steel for it to hold the door card in place. Super hard to explain. The other thing I got was 3m 1/4inch double sided tape. Used the tape and and some urethane glue to hold the wing down. Taped badges down and monsoons back on. The finished result looks like a factory car which is definitely what I wanted. I'll do the black bumper section in a few weeks. We have some wheels and goodies coming from japan and need to see if it needs the black or not. Hanks for looking. 19
fuel
I think given it's already missing rubbing strips on the doors you could definitely get away with not painting the bumper sections black - it kind of modernises the car somewhat.

I'm leaning towards painting them black but waiting for the wheels till I make my final decision. My latest purchase from japan definitely gives off nerdy vibes. tortron
How does this compare to a k11?

Maybe not as common as the k11 and I haven't had to much to do with the k11 performance wise. I prefer the k11 for looks. Only went with logo because was too mint to pass up. This is really peppy down low. Really nice to drive once the sway bar was fitted. It has been a challenge finding bits but every minute has been enjoyable.

I'm looking forward to working out all the bolt on Honda lego bits that work with this.

He now has a more modern Jazz/Fit with a v6 in the boot
Popular Post kp60nick
Every minute of this car has been enjoyable. Reminds me of my teenage years working on the driveway, basic mods and exciting. This weekend waterblasted the under side and gave it a good scrub. Chucked the new springs in and the adjustable panard bar. The finished result is just temporary till I get my tyres fitted to the new rims but is starting to look less nana spec. Photos don't really do it justice on how much lower it is. About a 40mm drop. One tiny con is now the exhaust is hitting the sway bar. Thankfully that's not too tricky to fix. Thanks for looking. 11

Sunbeam
Are these injected or carb? Looking at one for the daughter….
kp60nick
@Sunbeam injected. Awesome little car. Bit soft suspension from factory feels bit like it's going to tip over. Bigger tyres help
