For all those wondering about road access, the CT125 wheelie champ, Dan has been out to Waikaremoana in the last week with no issues.

Not exactly on the route this year but hopefully that bodes well for access to the rest of the cape.

Yeah, very worried that covid is gonna stuff this up. Fingers crossed!

I’m really hoping it doesn’t but it is possible, I’m coming all the way from the South Island for this one!

Just refreshing myself with the restrictions as they sit currently.

So level 1 obviously great, lets go.

Level 2, proceed with caution.

Levels 3 & 4, yeah / nah.

Its possible that some of us are able to carry on, and others will be stuck in their regions. I'll probably still try and get out there, even if its just the Bay of Plenty and Gisborne in level 2 alone (unlikely), but we could end up missing quite a few people, unfortunate.

I guess we just wait and see how the next couple weeks pan out

Yeah, wait and see I reckon.

At present the 4 of us from Taranaki will still be going, it will just add ~2 hours each way of driving to get around the boundary.

So much can change between now and then.

Yeah I figure accommodation and possibly travel arrangements are about the only things that people will have to worry about cancelling etc so it's not like any one person is going to be lumped with a burden cost etc

Yeah that's a bit balls. It's not on this year's route, but a loss for sure. I don't think Ruatoria has any similar establishments open either for day 2. And there's not much on day one except Motu cafe and Matawai grease shack.

How about a wee back track to the Te Puia springs pub? (Not actually sure how far that is from this years route tbh)

Should probably talk about contingency and attendance through the different covid levels too, thoughts?

to be honest i might just so happen to be going for a ride around the east cape. if i so happen to bump into 40 others going that way, well they must have good taste in routes.

really hoping Hamilton is lest out of some kinda lvl3, my leave at work got approved so pretty keen for a hoon on the vespa

Man I really don't like the odds for those that want to attend from the likes of Auckland and even waikato with all this covid going on.

I just wanted to ride my scooter with friends.

I hope Waikato/Auckland can come.

But also the TGA crew is down as long as it’s level 2. Even if it just ends up being a smaller group.

We plan to come unless we can’t etc etc.
