Small diesel heater on the other hand... Quote
Yowzer Posted April 18, 2020 Posted April 18, 2020 Yeah iit's not 2.6kw electric, hooks up to the cooling system like the factory heater core. For the price it'd be better than nothing! 2 Quote
felixx Posted April 18, 2020 Author Posted April 18, 2020 I reckon it has to be better than nothing. There is a guy selling the same unit on the tard for $230 1 Quote
felixx Posted March 21, 2021 Author Posted March 21, 2021 So it appears he has had it 90 min and already working on it 2 Quote
Valiant Posted March 23, 2021 Posted March 23, 2021 Hi @ajg193it looks like this has gone to a great home. What are your plans for it? It was shaping up to be an awesome little car Quote
ajg193 Posted March 23, 2021 Posted March 23, 2021 Don't have too many concrete plans. Mainly sort it out physically/mechanically and if I have time I'll sort it out cosmetically. Failing that I'll just get my brother to do it up north after my dad drives it up. Once I've sorted the brakes and doors I'll crack into the valvetrain and then maybe make sure there aren't any major leaks anywhere. Cosmetic work won't be too in-depth. I want it to still be perfectly usable as a daily when I'm done. So just a basic straightening, some paint and maybe make some new trim bits. 3 Quote
Valiant Posted March 23, 2021 Posted March 23, 2021 I always thought it needed some new shocks a conversion to telescopic rears and some discs upfront. Quote

ajg193 Posted March 24, 2021 Posted March 24, 2021 Speeduino would be what I'd go for But yeah, I really don't want to go through the hassle/cost of a cert so it's staying OG. The money could be better spent elsewhere on the project. Quote
Valiant Posted March 24, 2021 Posted March 24, 2021 I had such high hopes when you mentioned tang n desprang. 2 Quote

chasinthemirage Posted March 25, 2021 Posted March 25, 2021 Man it must be great being able to whip things up on the lathe like that! Also interesting re the testing station. My brother took his Surf there a few months back (32s, 2" lift, spotlights etc, nothing out of the ordinary) and they went to town on it. Wanted proof from Toyota that the lift wasn't more than 2", made him take all the stickers off the side windows, also wanted him to remove the lower half of the dash to prove there wasn't an odometer switch in there etc. Won't be going there ever again. 1 3 Quote
