But the union have walked away from the table and rejected every single claim the company has made while the company has accepted every claim (except one) that the union has made. Although the only one that I care about is changing the wording from "you may be requested to work on public holidays" to "you may be required to work on public holidays" Thats not what they are making it sound like, theyre trying to make it all personal like the big bad companies are trying to screw the employees. http://wellington.scoop.co.nz/?p=104871
EpochNZ
But thats typical Union rhetoric, The RMTU magazines could have come straight out of the 50's with calls of physical violence against "Scabs"....
cletus
I heard an interview yesterday with some onion guy and I noticed the repeated use of the term ' big multi national corporation' quite a few times in a negative way
Nominal
Yes, they keep mentioning Hyundai whatever too.
Beaver
There were about 6 token union plebs doing a protest on Thorndon Quay this morning (as I was riding my bike as the trains weren't running). I think they were complaining to the wrong people. Trying to get sympathy from the 30,000 people whose days you've just fucked up probably inst the best bet. Out of interest, when unions strike, do they simply get the day off, or do they have to actually do something/protest/attend a meeting etc?
Seedy Al
If I had had the day off I would have considered having an anti union protest to be honest.

locost_bryan
The interview on TV3 with the onion rep came across as an old fashioned reminder to the gummint - "we scratched your back..."
M Night Shamalayan
There's lots of bunnies on the interweb saying "agh the greater wellington regional council need to pay people more" Considering their "negotiation" (if you can call it that) is with TransDev and Hyundai Totem, does any aspect of it at all have anything to do with GWRC?
