Carsnz123 Posted September 18, 2017 Posted September 18, 2017 Chat about the large volume rust, diesel smoke, and misfortune in the build thread Quote
brocky41 Posted September 18, 2017 Posted September 18, 2017 Wow good work - Karl filled me in today on these. Pretty much any L series can sit forever, throw some plugs at it, fuel and battery and your away. Karl might have told you that Cedrics are my thing aswell - great to see hopefully more than one being saved from your lot. Quote
Carsnz123 Posted September 18, 2017 Author Posted September 18, 2017 We may end up doing all three. It would be good to do a diesel and a petrol. The red one is 3 on the tree 1 Quote
Snoozin Posted September 18, 2017 Posted September 18, 2017 I'm not gonna lie, I'm into these things. Look forward to following the progress! Quote
igor Posted September 18, 2017 Posted September 18, 2017 I love it when a car sits for years like that and then starts up pretty much straight away. Enjoyed those two short vids. Karl's taxi was one of the more memorable cars for me at Hanmeet this year. Quote
Carsnz123 Posted September 19, 2017 Author Posted September 19, 2017 I'm just gonna post some pics of ideas for the car so I have a quick reference to foam over. Quote
kyteler Posted September 19, 2017 Posted September 19, 2017 If you can turn the engine bay into an S30 one you'll definitely be doing well... 4 Quote
RUNAMUCK Posted September 20, 2017 Posted September 20, 2017 The man who puts an M90 on an LD28 will become a coal rolling god. Quote
brocky41 Posted September 20, 2017 Posted September 20, 2017 But it wont roll coal unless it has a turbo for lagyness haha M90 + T51R-SPL twin-charging FTW or Compounding turbos. Careful over 15PSI boost and use a J or U-pipe for keeping 6 cool.......like this.... Quote
Carsnz123 Posted September 20, 2017 Author Posted September 20, 2017 Twin charging did cross my mind but I'd have to build a strong engine and run 30lb of boost to make it worth it 1 Quote
- i5oogt - Posted September 21, 2017 Posted September 21, 2017 I should really put a boost gauge on the taxi and see what it is running 2 Quote

Carsnz123 Posted September 3, 2018 Author Posted September 3, 2018 Mate who was going to do the rust work moved workshops so didn't have any time to fix it. So not much has been done as of late. I need to decide the overall goal for the car because I want to keep working on my Chrysler. Crowns and Skyline are first on the list though. Too many cars. Quote

I'd like to see someone fit this ITB kit https://datsunspirit.com/shop/itb-setup-for-l6/ Unless you modify the rest of the engine (cam, port job, extractors, higher compression) Triple sides are not really any advantage over twin SU carbs except for epic dorts. 2 Quote
RUNAMUCK Posted September 4, 2018 Posted September 4, 2018 My mate Damon at rocky auto is a dellorto expert. I think he knows where to get new ones off the www. Italy maybe? He said the new webers need the throttle butterfly screws loctiting in or else they fall out, and you have a bad time. Quote

(end of the week) a few years ago these were worthless/non desirable. But I think most of them went by the way of rot and now they are still non desirable.. but getting less and less as we go. Quote
RUNAMUCK Posted September 4, 2018 Posted September 4, 2018 330's are legit as fuck. Much better cars than the 230. Quote
