427carguy
No exact budget, I guess under $500 for the engine. I'll definitely keep an eye on the top two cheers
mo999
Being a D series one, you could remove the entire back roof section if you want Like this.
427carguy
Im going to remove it for the chop but would like to keep it there, itll just kind of drop down into where that grill bit used to be if that makes sence.

Muncie
Put a 50mm solid go kart spec axle in and as many stationary engines as you can aquire a mix of 2 and 4 strokes would make an interesting racket.
Snoozin
Maaan throw coloured perspex at those windows, smooth the shit out of it, add like a matte candy paint hue and make a tiny kustom. This things gonna be so cool!

artyone
Man, that is absolutely brilliant!!! I fucken love it to bit's. If it was mine and I haven't looked into the drive train, which I would have if it was mine, but what springs to mind is a 2CV engine or at least something comparably ancient but well engineered... even a imp engine would be well interesting. Another possible is something like a really weird subaru van I had which was from the 70's and it had a transverse three cylinder sitting out the back at a big tilt... that'd be neato too. You got weird, are going weird so why not keep weird top of the agenda? Eastern Euro peasant rat rods rule!!!
427carguy
Anyone want some parts? have a complete engine, Windows and some other random bits. Bring me alcohol and take what you want. I thought I remembered someone asking about the old engine but can't find the post.

oldnrusty
is that 250 really gonna move that thing? I realise it light and 14000 rpm sounds fun, but it must be zero torque from that thing, you wanta be able to hook an "O" in it surely I saw you hog burnout photo, but cars have two rear tires to spin up
427carguy
Im still unsure how well the engine will work im going off the fact that iv seen 600cc bike engines power small rally cars, and i only need to cruise around on grass. it may all be a fail but im only up to $300 invested in the whole car.
427carguy
Just looked up some details, 479cc fiat had 17hp and 27nm 250cc bike has 35hp and 21.5nm that and the fact that itll be a hell of a lot lighter will mean it should drive fine but wont be any burnouts.
