ThePog
Yea I was thinking it might be worth it. There is a wee steel pin that gets muntered if you are not careful during dissasembly, would have to supply that too but hey. I might put something up on the NZ humber club FB page. Might leave it a month or so to see if it survives, but it is very exciting have proper indicators. The dirty old girl just flew through a warrant just now, got to be happy with that.

sidewaysickness
You forgot to mention that simply fitting a thermostat enabled the temperature gauge to read correctly for the first time in many years.
ThePog
Ye that, altho Jones says it always got up to temp sitting in akl traffic
tortron
so what i am seeing is that 1. you can put some massive slugs in that engine 2. you should braze some tube and flange into the intakes and run multiple carbs off them
ThePog
Dude, this shit has fully occurred to me already, I reckon a sneaky rebuild of one of the engines is in order, maybe even a 5 speed behind it.... we will see.

rxtoy
Looks heaps better without wheel trims, how about a pic minus hubcaps to see how that looks? Cheers Matt
ThePog
Cos that lazy fucker Jones only painted the visible parts in red oxide, so it looks a bit shit without hubcaps. I might sort that tho.
Nominal
Uh-oh, bad news. You'll probably need a crane to lift that head too.

rxtoy
Saw one of these on the weekend, was out at a mates dads workshop watching a silvia get tuned, walked out the back for a piss and voila: In Perth so no good for parts for you unfortunately Cheers Matt
yoeddynz
It looks like you pissed on the front guard Matt? Good job. Take a photo of it next year to show the improvement.
SOHC
Don't bother with exhaust gaskets, that CRC or Permex red high temp silicon is better, nealy 180,000 KMS ago I did my Volvo extractors, did a falcon 4.1 manifold and then took that off 9 yeas later and it was still good. ThePog
Yea could be the go, I put a gasket in the lower joint along with some caulking type poo when I did the head gasket, shit had fallen to bits already when I split it.
Nominal
Could work so long as the head face and manifold are nice and flat.
KKtrips
You can get gaskets made fairly easily. Or buy a sheet of exhaust gasket material and make your own. Search part number pm762 gasket
Valiant
Shuk Engineering will be able to cut you one if you can supply them something to copy the shape off.
