yoeddynz
This one is floppy as it has nothing left in the back. The spare whell only just holds in place. They are pretty solid otherwise, when new.. I reckon Hannah should brace the tow bar really well it after letting in new steel. Just to be sure. KKtrips
LD28s are not the economical power beasts that people seem to think. If you want torque and economy with a cheap source of drive line then you have eliminated a huge number of options. A diesel will fill the first two but struggle with the last. Plenty of others will be cheap and powerful but struggle to meet economy targets. I think this is one of those 3 sided triangle equations where you can have 2 but at the expense of the third side. What is more important 2 of the 3? You may fluke all 3 as a one off but if it ever needs rebuilding then the cost may be prohibitive. mjrstar
this will comfortably drop into 8l/100 range in an 1800kg sedan, so should do that in the trump. http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/car-parts-accessories/ford/engines/auction-831545521.htm Sure a late model euro diection injection dieez might get into the 6l/100 range but you still then need to consider RUC's on top.. or better still http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/car-parts-accessories/ford/engines/auction-831123471.htm bit more outlay, but will mean max towing speeds everywhere. EDIT... ok ok here is your donor..you must however keep the nos system for those steep hills. http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/ford/auction-831116922.htm
yoeddynz
Problem with them ford engines is the size- big heavy things. Plus whilst not really car snobs and having had a couple of fords in the past which were nice enough, we both do tend to like to lean towards the GM side of the fence.... yoeddynz
No to pintos. Had one in a mk2 transit I lived in for 2 years. Old smokey... never let me down but yeah no. Straight six it has to be.
AllTorque
202 mayte. But seriously, what about a Toyota 1KZ from a Hilux. You can chuck a mechanical pump on it and wind up the boost a little bit and have all the torque on the world.
BLIZZO
1kzs are still tractor engine as hell tho, and in no way would fit into hannahs budget, 1kzs are a horrendously overpriced lump of iron, plus if they were going to go big budget argicultrual spec im sure they would make a 1-hdt fit rather than a little four
AllTorque
1VD then, LOL. If it's a straight 6 you're after Hannah, have you considered a 1JZ?

Hannah
There is a wrecked Mk1 locally that we are going to investigate for useable panels. You should definitely try to rescue the one in Auckland. Such rare cars and so cool looking
