dave123456789
Is it all good to run 5 instead of 6 cause one snapped? They are in groups of 2.
eke_zetec_RWD
Lol ideally no. Remove the snapped one.

sidewaysickness
What methods did you use to attempt to get it out?
dave123456789
Drilled it and tried a easy out. Then a hammer and a screw driver. Then bigger easy outs.
eke_zetec_RWD
Lol engineers are gonna love you! All these attempts have just made it twice as hard for them.

eke_zetec_RWD
Nah it will be sweet mate. Just take it to a machine shop not a general engineer.
ajg193
Just weld the top half of the bolt onto the new pressure plate. Insta-balance. [ThumbUp] I'm sure they will be able to get it out using some sort of ultrasonic machine or something.
dave123456789
Is there anywhere near pakuranga? Or should I just ringing around tomorrow morning?
Rookie
FYI, easyouts have a very limited use, unless you snapped the bolt by over torqing it when you were putting it in then that are many other options for getting it out.
dave123456789
Yea so far easy outs haven't done shit. I didnt over torque it was suppose to be 15lbs but it snapped not long after it was snug. I have got all new bolts to replace them all just got to get this out.
Bling
Is it flush with the flywheel? Could try using a nail punch to turn it to undo it. Get some CRC spray in there and lube it up a bit. Just make sure you give it a really good clean if you do so. Wouldn't want anything on it to affect the clutch material. Lol you know how they say there are no stupid questions.............. Considering the other option would have been to just run 5 bolts. Asking turned out to be a good idea.
dave123456789
Na it's about 5mm deep. I have already drilled it and messed with it so its coming off to go engineer so they can do their thing.
Nominal
Got a MIG? weld a nut onto the end of the broken bit (easy enough if the flywheel is cast).
SOHC
its about $2.00 to get a broken bolt spark eroded
Ridal
If its easy to get a drill square on it you should be able to drill it out enough to start a tap to get the last of the thread. Well that's what I did when a bolt seized and snapped in my bonnet and it worked.
dave123456789
Got a MIG? weld a nut onto the end of the broken bit (easy enough if the flywheel is cast). I should done that first but cause I was feeling lazy I thought it could be drilled out and use an easy out while it was still attached to engine. Mig is at my place not where the car is so would have had to pull it apart. Anyway, It's at an engineers now, they going to mill it out and helicoil it and also give the face a clean up since it been sitting for a year or so and has a bit of surface rusty shit on it. Said an hour work max so here's hoping its half that. Expensive fuck up
