M Night Shamalayan Posted May 6, 2013 Author Posted May 6, 2013 carry friends, we can carry together freight some 6M lengths of steel with one carry backwards? I need you to teach me the ways of lower this thang. Blocks in the back. And god knows what up front. Quote

M Night Shamalayan Posted May 6, 2013 Author Posted May 6, 2013 This will look MINT on Milk's Equips!! Very much agreed. Love equips Quote
Steelies Posted May 6, 2013 Posted May 6, 2013 oh wheel jealous. i'm goin for 2" blox rear and take an inch out of the spring top hat at front. mine has about an inch of van rake at present. will pretty much be on rear bumps after 2" lowering. stupid crazy tall bump stop pillar things Quote
M Night Shamalayan Posted May 6, 2013 Author Posted May 6, 2013 Yeah this ones raked about an inch too. need to get underneath it and have a look at possibilities for slam. When you say take an inch of of spring top hat, you mean, cutting the top of the spring? Or extending the top had so the shock sits further up? Quote
Steelies Posted May 7, 2013 Posted May 7, 2013 mine has an upper spring perch i'd guess you'd say - not so much the top hat, that has a rather unnecessary inch of length. that needs to be removed/shortened, to bring the top of the spring upward by that much. have yet to find mystery issues with this though. i got blocks and U-bolts from SAS in the hutt. maybe will need to drill out the leaf spring plates to fit slightly bigger bolt diameter. unsure of leaf/block pin diameter but will mod to suit. think theyre listed as escort or cortina Ubolts. 65ID by 200mm long $120ish with blocks Quote
MRWEST Posted May 7, 2013 Posted May 7, 2013 if your front brakes are good enough rumor has it that these things can do nose wheelies under heavy braking! haha Quote
estate_ Posted May 7, 2013 Posted May 7, 2013 freight some 6M lengths of steel with one carry backwards? Have a photo somewhere of my old carry with 6m lengths of wood on the roof haha.. Quote
camo_78 Posted May 7, 2013 Posted May 7, 2013 if your front brakes are good enough rumor has it that these things can do nose wheelies under heavy braking! haha they're not kidding,i rebuilt the front brakes on my old hijet and that thing would touch the front bumper to the ground quite regularly, lmao Quote
MRWEST Posted May 7, 2013 Posted May 7, 2013 used to love rolling round in my mates matt black carry it was aweseome hahaha.. Quote
M Night Shamalayan Posted May 7, 2013 Author Posted May 7, 2013 Brakes in it are beyond shit. So there'll be no nose wheelie shenanigans... Yet... Will have a look tonight when I get home and check out what this upper spring perch is all about. See how much we can lop off it without too many ill effects. Anyone know if these things come up at pick a part much? Quote
feathersword Posted May 7, 2013 Posted May 7, 2013 I would hate to see one of these after a crash at Pick a Part - can't imagine your knees fairing too well!! Quote
M Night Shamalayan Posted May 7, 2013 Author Posted May 7, 2013 Yeah hoping for broken ones engine wise. Rather than front end stacks. All I really want is a new front bumper and a window winder for the door. So far.... Quote
