  1. What have you chaps used for this? Hoping some other readily available spring can go in for a bit of low. Asking for a mate, not keen on chopping factory springs in case we cant find replacements WOF time...
  2. They're already in there, can't you see them? ;P
  3. Steve at Tidycar in Haining Street also knows his way around a carby, have used him in the past with good results.
  4. Mean! I'm passenger in the Gem (your old one?) at the 9 minute mark in your video
  5. I am loving this car/thread, can wait for the next installment either!
  6. Interesting concept. I personally have no need for a garage at home, as the most I am likely to do myself is an oil change or something. However, I have mates that have lock ups, and end up there most weekends working on something (not often doing much myself, but just drinking beers and shooting the shit). Not sure what my point is.... I like the idea, but how profitable would it be - ie most car dudes would already have either a garage at home or a lockup that they can keep their car in. Just the first thing that came to mind though! Obviously could be used for more than just car stuff....
  7. What is this "future owners"? You are not allowed to sell. Also, congrats on engagement bruh, always thought/fantasized you liked the boiz
  8. Hell yeah Geoff!! I'll need to come have an up close geeze/rub all over of this thing. Is it Rego on hold? What are the plans for it?
  9. I admired this at the Auto Clique meet yesterday! Very cool and sounded the tits driving off! I was passenger in the Lotus Replica.
  10. If you have no luck with the above I have a mate with a lockup that could potentially have a space for a short period of time. PM me if need be and I can hit him up for you.
  11. The previous owner of that ute is a good friend of mine, and is stoked to see how quickly you are progressing with it! He spent a fair wack of money getting it painted a little over a year ago, and we were sad to see it go. I'll keep him posted on your progress
  12. This thing is cool. That's all, just wanted to say it /lingpost
  13. Was nice meeting a few of you guys, and Hadleigh was juiced to have a drive of your Kombi. Next time we might bring a few other whips, Hadleigh also owns a mint as Datsun 1200, Caleb has a mint as 808/RX3 and i have a really really shitty 323 wagon.
  14. Haha mint I'll let him know and I'll remind him of lighting requirements. Probably be a few of us in his Kombi, will be good to yarn with a few of you.
  15. Hey bro Any chance you are going this Thursday and bringing your Kombi? Might be coming along in a mate of mine's Kombi and he's keen to have a geez at your bag set up
  16. Hey Bro! I was one of the fellas in the Kombi you yarned too at the campsite Was nice to meet you, I think I have a couple (probably quite rubbish) photos of your car on my phone I'll post up at some stage
  17. Not sure if this will end up being much of a project, but here goes! A couple of months ago a couple of mates flew from Wellington to Auckland to pick up a new tow vehicle (Ford Courier), and on a whim stopped in Putaruru and picked up this wee gem. A few texts and photos sent, and I had pretty much all but bought it before it even got back to Wellington. After a few bits of rust work it got a WOF, it sure ain't pretty but runs well, especially with new plugs and leads. Other than that have done rocker cover gasket to stop a leak, oil and filters and driven it tons. Being the original 1300 and 4 speed it's not exactly a speed demon but has plenty of character. Mum even drives it to school (she is a teacher) and loves it - but has given it the nickname "Pusbucket" Plans are to chuck some low at it, probably new shocks, couple coils out the front and blocks in the rear - maybe some rims if I can find some for a decent price. Would like some hotwires if anyone has any going? Apologies for the rubbish photo but only one I have - will get some better one's next sunny day once it's had a clean!
  18. I really need to, will take some photo's and do one day soon - not that I have done anything much to it yet!
  19. Very cool! I have a similar yellow one here in Wellington, might see you around! Your dash is mint! Mine is all cracked and rubbish. The 1300 4 spd is definitely no speed freak but still plenty fine to tootle about in - and hella easy to work on, if I can do it, anyone can!
  20. This may be what I need to do! Any idea where the OBD2 plug be, if it has one?
  21. I am planning on selling it pretty soon, my 82 323 wagon is much more my cup of tea. Ideally want it working before I sell it though! No flashing lights or anything like that, don't believe it has any immobilisers.
  22. I feel like a lot of the time when posting here it is for crappy modern cars... Perhaps that is because older cars are better and don't give me any issues! Anyways, looking for a bit of advice with my 1995 Volkswagen Polo. I barely drive it, but my mum uses it most days to get to work. 19 out of 20 times, she gets in, turns key, starts fine. The other 1 time out of the 20, it won't start! Engine turns over, but then dies. Mum tries a few times, gets frustrated, and gets a ride to work with Dad. I get home later, and every time, get in the car, turn key, car starts and I laugh at her. Basically what I'm wanting is suggestions of things I can do/check to try and eliminate the problem, pain in the ass as it's so intermittent, so any potential fix could take a few weeks before I will know if its actually cured the problem!!
  23. Having helped do this a couple times it definitely helps to have a couple sets of hands at least - take your time and you'll get it! Might take a couple tries!
  24. Managed to get car started, so not starter motor. Battery is apparently pretty new (within last year or so), so potentially alternator not charging it? Going to get battery checked so may come back for more help once that is done, cheers guys
  25. That's what I thought, cheers for confirming Will keep that in mind
