people would probably shoot me for suggesting this, but RX2 tail lights IMO -
plan 5:refer to plan #1 but fit ITBs for max doooorting
-
it came out of an auto mk5 Cortina ghia,I bought the car to save it going to the scrappy.can you remember what the specs of your cam were??
-
Hey Robbie,is there an easy way to tell if a cam has been altered from stock??reason I ask is I have a mystery engine, its based on a Cortina 2 litre but it will rev past 8000 rpm quite happily.i got it with a BHG,measured the bores and it has been bored out to a 2.1,but apart from that its a total mystery.
-
hey Clint, ive got the opposite issue, seat mounts are wider than rails(in my case, wrx seats in a mk5 Cortina).any special rules around it or anything??I haven't tried getting a warrant on it yet(mid rebuild),have mounted them using 30x3mm flat bar and original wrx and Cortina bolts
-
severely delayed, but I does like the wheels a lot
-
do I spy eagers on the back??lol.but yes,i agree on being sick of the stretch/poke/stance crap
-
is all I have to say, have a soft spot for these Zephyrs
-
hey Clint, I'm sure I've already asked about getting the pinky off my XE I've just bought, but it says on the paperwork inside the window that it has to be certified before it can get a warrant.is this right??as far as I know it was pinkied for sitting on bumpstops at the front, which I've rectified with brand new cobra springs
-
good man running the mk4 grill,i have the same for my mk5 sport as well as a mk5 ghia grill with the rectangular spotlights
-
i have now joined the XE club, picked up a rolling 84 Fairmont on tridents(14x7s unfortunately ),so am transferring all the good bits from the rusty XF skid car into it.will do a build thread at some point .did I mention its an ozzy assembled one??LOL
-
exactly how I see it too, everyone hated on FCs but now people are begninng to realise theyre a cool car in their own way
-
10 pages back, what is this witchcraft???anyway,i has employment now so I can start throwing money at this to get it back on the road.will update in the next few days as to whats going on
-
word of warning,if you chop more than a coil and a half off the rears you will need shorter shocks,i made this mistake with the first lot of springs i chopped in my XF,took 2 coils out=uncaptive as fook.wasnt an issue though as its a skid car,but ive since raised it in the rear on a new pair with 1.5 out and they are captive just
-
nice choice of colour .ive always liked escorts on spitfires better than being on tridents,so may be an option, all polished up against the new paint??
-
looks like a fun project captain, your engine bay plans are almost identical to mine for my mk5 sport, albeit im still going to be running a pinto

im in the same boat,no running fords so wont be there unfortunately -
liking the new choice of wheel colour sir
-
yup,im running a set of 4 into 1 extractors into 2.25" pipe with a single freeflow muffler in the middle, into a 2.5" tail pipe that starts just behind the diff.all in all a little louder than a stock cortina but not drain pipe spec, and seems to flow well
-
looking good captain, ive only just got back into the sport after loosing motivation for a while
-
know that feeling, ive got 4 on the go as well. but the wag looks sweet,id roll it with the flares, provided you fill them right out once its on the rd again
-
as long as the vinyl is a matte/satin finish its all good IMO .will be following your work though as i need to do the same in the mk5 sport to fit rear speakers
