h4nd Posted December 15, 2018 Author Posted December 15, 2018 Check my sig (you might need to use a computer, not a phone to see it?) Quote

h4nd Posted February 18, 2019 Author Posted February 18, 2019 Thanks: that's really interesting, but probably not necessary; I have an OK looking piston and barrel, and a spare short block, and another spare rust heap. I'll try rebuilding it with those, do the port chamfering myself, and see how long it goes. I understand those high silicon alloys are a swine to machine? Also: you should probably be charging enough for that kind of work I can't afford it It wouldn't hurt to know your capabilities, some of my work projects have mechanical aspects at the moment. 1 Quote

kyteler Posted February 18, 2019 Posted February 18, 2019 I found my folder that is a photocopy of the service manual. Do you have one or would you like me to digitize it? Quote

h4nd Posted February 18, 2019 Author Posted February 18, 2019 I sent a spare to Scotland, and encouraged the chappie to share progress. I didn't see a thread here, and didn't hear back if he'd threaded elsewhere. Maybe I should look up his email. Quote
kyteler Posted November 23, 2019 Posted November 23, 2019 This guy is painfully boring but it was good to see your car regardless. 1 1 Quote
h4nd Posted November 23, 2019 Author Posted November 23, 2019 Thanks for posting the link. (I'll watch soon). I took him for a thrash up a motorway, to demonstrate dealing with the shagged synchros, then left him to it. 1 Quote
ThePog Posted December 9, 2019 Posted December 9, 2019 Holy shit was that your one? I watched the vid a couple of days go and had fun spotting CHCH landmarks. Port hills looked scary as fuck in that. 1 Quote

h4nd Posted December 9, 2019 Author Posted December 9, 2019 Have my photo links from a couple of posts back gone weird? Or is that just my browser being tin-foil-hat? Quote
h4nd Posted December 9, 2019 Author Posted December 9, 2019 Oh, I'm not ubscribed to this thread. (!?_) Thanks for the heads-up on the goog vid links @ajg193. You mean the goog vid links in the photo collections? (link pls) Chur Quote

The Chinese biscuits don't brake as well, but the limited cornering is probably a net benefit :-/ Quote
ajg193 Posted December 9, 2019 Posted December 9, 2019 The one after the hubnut video for example. Pretty much any google stuff you post just shows up as a circle with a line for me Quote
igor Posted December 9, 2019 Posted December 9, 2019 I couldn't see those either. Same circle and line hieroglyph. Quote
h4nd Posted December 9, 2019 Author Posted December 9, 2019 I pasted the photo in to the page, I thought I was putting he image onto the server. Shall see to it soon. Quote
h4nd Posted December 10, 2019 Author Posted December 10, 2019 Now with added pics. I see that if I'm looking at the page in an anonymouse browser, the sig doesn't show. No wonder people ask things which are referenced in the sig. Quote

Bits of it were OK (starter fine, alt could be ok) but the carbs had inhaled water for years, so lots of the motor is junk. I was quite interested in getting the distributor assy off it (have disassembled most of it) but I think the cog / gear wheel at the bottom of the shaft may be corroded solid. I haven't been able to split the engine cases to see in there, even with all the bolts out. I may just give up on it soon. I had hoped to have a spare to match the spare engine I have. Hi there I have one of these engines in a off road buggy am after parts any help would be appreciated thanks Paul 0210377799 Quote
