Will be interesting to see if it stops well enough or if a plan 'C' needs to be hatched.

Been a bit quiet on the updates.. although some stuff has been happening:

Replaced all vacuum/boost hoses – not sure but looks to be shithouse quality even though it came from a reputable engineering supplies shop in Hamilton it is clearly on crack..

Quite a few to do all up..

Also picked up the new front discs, which had kindly been drilled to suit the required 4x114 stud patten.

Which left us with this:

Some mods happened to the bottom arms as it had a bit too much low (some of you may argue that is a not a thing)

Which has left the ride height looking pretty much like this:

Some more guard and bumper mods will be required as this hub setup does have slightly more track so things are a little hungry for front and rear clearance but should be less brutal than the mods required to fit the 15x8’s on the front of the starlet..

Ride height and alignment, and some new bump steer measurements are on the to-do list, then look at the routing of the brake lines etc.. before the new carbotechs are given the bedding procedure.

Corner weigh session suggests heavy stuff is heavier than light stuff.

This is 1/3 tank of fuel.

To make me feel better we put my evo on the scales, and managed to bust one of the castors on my jack..

Progress on the machining for the steering bits. - need to get them plated before fitting. Shims should allow for fine tuning of bump steer.

Also some reduction in progress can be attributed to the sidetrack of new POS track beater.

Havnt been on here in ages, gotta say nice work, particularly on the hubs!

Any more progress?

A little bit of progress, but turns out the honda is kinda fun, so using that has taken priority in the last little* while

I've replaced the in tank walbro with a dw200 due to a failure from lack of use, and swapped the injectors as one decided to stop going after 6 years of not being started.

Also played with crank enrichment which was switched off and it turns put having it switched on makes it start betterer.

I have evicted a couple of other cars so now have space to at least walk around this, or maybe even work on it if I want to.

Oh, I can do OS drag day as long as car has a logbook yeah?

I have some paint to paint the car, but I'm considering a shortcut to maybe just paint roof, A pillars, and flares to make it look slightly less garbage.

*OK, not so little.

Next minor project on this is making something to tell me the speed I'm traveling at.

I have a hall effect sensor i bunged that near the front universal and temporarily wired up to the ecu. That is the extent of my planning and research so far. Do I need some resistor thing, we'll maybe who knows.

Plan A doesn't include a tone wheel at this stage, but maybe plan B will if the resolution at slow speed sucks or is inconsistent etc.

It makes a speed number which I have not calibrated, it also makes a gear number, but not the right number, so I'll need to figure that out.

We'll ignore the bit where it took me ages to get the hydraulic release bearing bled properly.

So I was patting myself on the back about gear and speed calculation, I had assumed the Calc was simple like rpm/kph and pre entered these values into the table....

but after a quick logging session it became evident that was not the case..

It appears it's looking for rpm/hz of the Hall effect which is fine once I figured out 100hz is ~25kph.

The second surprise was that I had calculated based on my memory that this was a 3.909 diff and my standard build plans as per my other cars of being comfortably running to redline in top gear would be just fine..

As it turns out it's a 3.545... which means
