kyteler
^ Let him do that, please. Also. Are you having a side roller/car sized access to get cars through the garage onto the lawn if required (more for means of extra movement as opposed to storage on the lawn)?
Chickity
No. There's a sliding access door and a PA door on the side. But only one car access point. The idea is to NOT have cars stored on the lawn, because stupidly large garage.
kyteler
Oh righto. (waits for Chris to see the idea of having drive through access to the lawn and replace sliding door with roller)
Chickity
The remaining lawn is barely big enough to put a car on anyhow. Wouldn't be practical. Front yard remains unchanged though. However. Excessive car storage will not bode well for relationship.
kyteler
You'll have to throw his shitty cars somewhere to give your Riviera the space it deserves.

peteretep
jeez thats a big ol garage, its going to block out the sun to your house. Is there a pic/drawing of final setup in plan with walls etc? also whats a price vaguely?
Chickity
Yeah, she's not little. Shouldn't have too much of an affect on light ingress to the house. Property is oriented essentially east to west. So garage is on the north side with the door facing east. Sun should be high enough that the deck receives little shade thrown by the garage, which is upset that only the deck gets invited to the bbqs. And there are no windows that will be affected by it. We're in the range of about $60k. which includes needing an engineered slab, because sewer line underneath, watercare consent for that too, + 2x cctv inspections of the damn thing. Resource consent because building in a floodplain. A technical memo from a geo tech engineer saying "fuck off, that's not a floodplain". And site surveying because the boundary pegs are well and truly gone. And the actual garage on top.
kempy
However. Excessive car storage will not bode well for relationshi If I had $1 for....
Corbie
A technical memo from a geo tech engineer saying "fuck off, that's not a floodplain". If only we could issue memos/reports like that.
