RX7 4pots 255-260mm rotor

Hey guys

Have scoured various RX7, mx5 and bmw e30 forums to see if a FC/FD3S 4pot caliper will fit either a BMW e30 260mm rotor, or an MX5 255mm rotor.

So in short

-RX7 4pots

-Will it fit a 260mm (BMW e30) or 255mm (Mazda MX5) rotor

-Fitment under 13inch rims

Cheers

Jesse

Are they the same as S4/5 calipers?

S4/5 will work with an E28 rotor.

/Just use Volvo calipers?

//What engine are you planning on to need such massive brakes?

Yep same as the s4/5 calipers, just different aesthetically.

Volvos are so heavy! Plus for the same price of volvos I can get FD3s calipers.

Planning on a 180-200hp zetec.

Wanting to fit 13inch wheels so no bigger than 260mm disk.

Im wanting to say 260 is too big?. 250 is the biggest ive been told will fit.

Im probably wrong though

I've seen many a 13" wheel with a 260mm rotor tucked in.

In fact I'm doing something similar, using Wilwood Dynalites.

I would have thought the caliper size will limit you... those FC calipers (assuming you mean the Sumitomo 4 pots) are a large caliper and protrude past the disc diameter considerably.

yea was thinking of the caliper diameter sorry. also they stick out quite a ways past the hub face depending on the rotor so may need a decent x-factor(?) on your rims to clear the caliper.

In the middle of doing this now, but with a fc3s caliper as the they arent as wide as fd3s ones so dont protrude as far out. Went down to the 260mm bmw disc rather than the 276mm fc3s disc's so hopefully 13" standard will fit.

Looking at redrilling and spacing standard backing plate like it was ment to be there.

Okay I thought FC3s ones were the same as FD3s just different looks?

If you get it to work sr1600 post up a tech article!

Did another search and found this

Also had a search on pads for the RX 7, Volvo 4pots pads

RX 7

-http://www.bendix.co.nz/catalogue/8568 Pad measures 107 x 68 x 14

Volvo 4pots

-http://www.bendix.co.nz/catalogue/10730 Pad measures 98 x 60 x 16

Volvo fit the e30 nicely, so will the increased area of the FC/FD pads be of any hassle?

The DBA (if i remember correctly) website is awesome for comparing and figuring out disk sizes and spacing from hub etc. You can search their disks by diameter, stud pattern, thickness ETC and then see which cars are the same or similar.. Or you can search by vehicle and see the sizes and offsets.

This may help someone.

There is a funny smell in my house.. fuck knows what it is. some kinda perfume... getting stronger.. cept nobodys home but me.. weird.
