This is next weekend and is always a damn good meeting. I don't think I've missed one yet.

With at least 37 races over 2 days at "Magic Manfeild", and catering for up to 300 vehicles;

making it one of the biggest meetings around.

Acknowledged by one & all as being one of the leading race meetings in New Zealand,

of any type, from the aspects of quality, size, organisation and down to earth fun.

38'ish Races over 2 days

Fantastic fields of stunning classic cars - up to 300 cars

Affiliated to MotorSport New Zealand Inc.

Normally includes:

Component Cars (NZ Classics of the future) of all shapes and sizes

Historic open wheelers - rare and interesting!

Special races - always with a few cars you haven't seen before

High horsepower to burn! More V8's than Bathurst - truly!

Capacity fields, 30+ most races

Sybil Lupp Memorial Trophy - remembering a terrific lady

O'Neill Trophy for British Sports Cars

MG's only race - we do all the work, so we have some perks!

Handicap races in many classes for extra fun

Time-sliced grid selections for closely matched racing all day

Special interest races - e.g. 'Spaghetti cars', 'Old' drivers etc.

"Open pit" concept for the public to enjoy

Sponsored lunchtime charity track rides - fund raising for The Cancer Society

Anyone else keen? I might only head up for the Sunday this year but I'll see how my plans pan out closer to the time.

Look out for the bogan in the skull and crossbones t-shirt with a grey and black striped goatee.

That's Shaz.

 Nah, I'm not old enough for grey hair yet. Plus I shaved my beard this morning. Otherwise that's a pretty apt description of me.

See you dicks there!

Present!

Unsure if going up for weekend or just Sunday

I'm guessing that you won't be competing?

Havn't had enough track time/experience to feel comfortable jumping in with other cars for close racing yet and Dont think there are any classes i could enter in anyway.

F5000's bring it on!

Whats the status of your old mans car?

That's a fair enough call.

As for Dad, lack of funds and motivation plus this

means that he's staying away from it for a while.

I'm getting tempted to come up for the full weekend now. I wanted to hit the Beastwars gig in Wellington on Saturday night but I have a feeling that this will lead to spending far too much money, an epic hangover and not wanting to get up early and drive to Feilding on Sunday morning. Potentially a bad move.
