street_legal
I have an RB30 with a very lumpy cam and want to fit multiple carbs My knowledge of carburetors is still expanding and I would appreciate any help Im not looking for outright performance just something interesting to drive All the research I have done I reckon 3 Weber DGV-32-36 carbs would be a good option I have a tig so will just make my own intake

street_legal
That would be to much of a mission...
keltik
The 32-36 is a nice cruzy carb but i would avoid it if you have a sports oriented motor. Go with something like the DGAS or DCOE synchronous opening carbs if you must stick with Weber.
peteretep
Fitting 3 sets of downdrafts would be just as much of a mission with only half the benefit of bike carbs or standard sidedrafts. Bike carbs are probably the cheapest option especially if you can make the manifold
BlownCorona
3x dgvs can be had for $200, bike carbs are alot more expensive than that
peteretep
Oh yeah sorry, but theres alot of setup still involved (possibly more for the downdrafts than the other setups) and they will give crap power gains compared to sidedrafts/bikecarbs
J-W-G
If your still learning carbs then I'd say go with sidedrafts webber DCOE 45s x3 of some Dellorto DHLA 45s x3 then move onto bike carbs Pure
Valiant
3x DCOE/DHLA will work awesome once it's sorted. Like this.
street_legal
Would I get away with these http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/car-parts-accessories/performance/carburation-induction/auction-406582709.htm That engine looks awesome must be strong... Im not to set on sticking with any specific carb just what ever works well Thanks
Valiant
They look good, I'm not sure that they are a true matched pair though. Expect to spend some money tuning them too. What about 3 SUs? that could work.
street_legal
I have a matched pair of Jag SU carbs here but they are for a turbo conversion How come they have to be matched sets? Can you not just change all the jets to the same as each other?
KKtrips
I would love to see an RB on SU's - they are cheap, plentiful and a plain simple carb that works well in a variety of situations (and can still be bought brand new for a reasonable price) In response to your question above - SU's are not matched like pistons ie: by weight/casting or manufacturing uniformity "defects" As long as the needle, jet and carb size then the only thing you need to worry about if you are going to run a pair of SU's then it is easier to have a left and a right, as the factory mechanical linkage all connects together easier. (As long as you have the carb size the same (which is fixed) then the jet and needle can be replaced with brand new) I would say if you run 3 SU's then it would check what a universal triple SU linkage kit uses (try redline manifolds for those) and get all lefts or all rights note - you may be able to convert a left into a right and vice versa by removing the throttle spindle and flipping it but I have never tried nor investigated it to see if it even looks feasible. TL;DR? summary = run your 2 SU's and make a manifold to suit your RB - will be massively awesome (will find you a pic of SU's running on a 4AGE down here)
KKtrips
WOW that was way easier to find than I imagined here is a magical tail in cartoon form, the addition of space technology to my starlet now it starts sweet everytime (so far haha) and i get to not catch the damn bus to work yay! can anybody see the sweet fuckup i made on the manifold? the best one i mean, not a list
glen
another option if you want a single carb is to track down a manifold of a rb30 patrol, as they were carberetted. But don't, do bike carbs or the SU's as above.

street_legal
Impressive little build. Looks very tidy. I see it interferes with the alternator tho I get heaps of SU carbs and have used them on a few things like turbo bikes I was wanting to learn bout different types Thats why I was set on weber but will prob end up going dellorto and use
