Its good as we had lost his contact details ages ago and wanted to find out how old Hoe was doing!
glen
I remember seeing a while ago a trump 2500 that was running a rb30e out of a vl i think. so im fairly sure it would work out in th end.
Snoozin
You'd be right, outer lamps are a dual filament 3 pin kinda deal so run on hi/lo beam.
Beaver
right. so since both sets of bulbs are no go on high beam, must be a relay or something at fault?
mark105
would say so, if its anything like my datsuns the inner and outer highs are wired in parallel so if one blows the other still goes so the fact that neither work would suggest relay or relay is not getting power to turn highs on. got a multimeter? basic as to test. Beaver
yep got one. need to find the relay first lol think I know where it is (slash there is a big one hanging out near the lights so I guess its that). should I just be checking for 12v getting to the relay? or seeing what comes out of it? or both I guess? kyteler
The headlamps work on Richies one, you should have bought that. :D :D :D ...OK I'll stop being a cunt now. (in this regard, that is)
mark105
check both, there should be 12V there at 2 points, one 12V should be on the switch side of the relay that when the relay is switched on will goto the high beams and the other to one side of the relay coil and the switch on the column should earth out the relay coil when going into high beam. this is the logical way it should work but in reality could be different, got a wiring diagram?
